Blogger.com vs Google.com

Hi, I come from an European country and I just started a blog on Blogger.com.

The content on my blog is entirely in English language and discusses USA-related topics only. My own country is not even mentioned in it and the blog looks like an American guy's blog.

I was checking the statistics and I noticed that I am getting traffic only from the local Google but I am not getting any hits from the global/American Google (Google.com).

Why is that? Only like 2% of the people in my country speak English and even smaller percentage of those care about USA-related topics. Still, I am getting all my traffic from the local Google and not from the American (or global) Google.com.

I think it is important to mention that I did not manually submit my blog to Google.com
I just thought that since Blogger.com is owned by Google every Blogger blog should be auto-indexed on Google.com.
Did I made the wrong assumption here?
Does Blogger.com submit international blogs to their respective local Google directories only and not to Google.com?
If yes, how can I change this and get my blog indexed in the global/American Google.com directory?

Should I start to manually add to Google.com every blog post that I make?

    I sure no ! Please make sure that your content is high quanlity or
    Original. I copy some articles from article sites,but i can get some hits from the global/American Google.

      Regarding the content of the blog: I am the guy who writes every single blog post there. I do not copy/paste stuff from the internet. Occasionally, I do embed other people's videos from YouTube, though. Should not be a problem, I guess.

      Can't tell what quality my content is.
      This is very subjective and I don't think that Google can recognize a quality blog post from a stupid one.
      I believe Google only cares about the volume of the posts, the frequency they appear on the blog and the keywords used.
      It also monitors for copy/paste thefts of content which in my case should not be a problem.

    Almost everything that Google owns is now rolled into one Google account.

    How is your Google account setup, is your country set as USA?

    • My Blogger account was set without a country wile my Google account was set to my own country. I just changed it to USA.
      Was this important for the Google indexing?

  • I think you are not getting enough traffic to your blog and that is why you are getting 2% traffic from the usa. I would suggest that you should submit it blog directories and the social bookmarking and the other sources.You are not promoting it well on the internet.And keep adding the content to your blog regularly and the content must be unique.And choose keywords accordingly which are searched most on the internet , for this you can use google's adword keywords tool.

      Will I have to manually submit to blog directories every new post that I add to my blog?
      Or do I have to submit my blog's main page just once to those directories?

      What are the social bookmarkings and the other sources?

  • I also have developed a blog on Blogger.com and have been get adsense account from google through this blog .I think Blogger.com is best to develop own blog .
  • Hello BULLDOZER...greetings from my side.What you have assumed is completely right.You need not submit your blog to google manually.They are automatically indexed by google.The point of debate is "why are you not getting visitors from USA?", well the answer is- your blog does not rank well on google.com for searches related to your posts.The reason being its harder to rank globally than locally and even if your posts are US related they can bring no visitors unless its listed on google.com on the top.So you should start creating good backlinks to your blog.This would help you to rank in google.com and ultimately your visitors from US would increase.

    Also, what are social "bookmarks" and how to take advantage of them in terms of SEO?
  • Have you tried adding your URL to Google for the Googlebot to crawl & index? All you have to do is go to Google, type in "add URL", and then submit your blog, and type in the human verification code. And, from there, once you're potentially indexed in Google's index, you should be able to see your blog, and possibly get traffic. Just start talking about American stuff and see what happens, when you measure your traffic sources, when using Google Analytics. Hope this helps! =)

      For example: you make a new blog post and it appears in Google immediately.
      How to do this?

      I think to be able to do that it is not enough to just submit your blog to Google or whatever search engines are there.
