I heard that Google can hit all of your websites if you've registered them with them on Google Analytics, they can hit all your web sites if they think your link building is manipulative or something along those lines.

So should I submit my second site to Google webmaster? What do people do alternatively?

  • In Google webmaster, you can manage more than one site.
  • I know, but I'm asking if it's wise to or whether it can be an issue for any reason.
  • If your website is an assist to your market then it is an excellent thing to do because you can truly track your visitors experience on your website.
  • ... No one is answering my question.

    • You mention Google Analytics in the first sentence but then ask if it is good to submit to Google Webmaster. Some confusion in your question. I assume you are saying - submit to Google Analytics.

If you are using blackhat techniques in promoting your site, then definitely there is a good chance that your sites can be monitored if you are signed up to Google services. It is better not to take the risk.

Take a look at alternatives to Analytics and there are some great free solutions also.

  • For sure if you are using some serious grey promotion techniques in mass scale, I would not use Google webmaster tools, analytics, adsense, youtube etc. They are pretty good at connecting the dots
  • All you need to do is create a sitemap in valid forum, pretty much all SEO plugins for wordpress do so, and then ping the URL. Or again your plugin like All in One SEO for wordpress would automatically do all this. So there is really no advantage to submitting your sitemap through webmaster tools vs doing it the normal way.

As for Google penalizing your site(s), yes they certainly can track multiple sites by adsense publisher id, analytics or webmaster tools accounts. So if you are worried, the best bet is not to use these tools
  • You can add as many site you can. No negative effects of doing this.
