help me with buying a domain

Okay guys, i'm going to buy a domain i got everything checked up and im pretty sure i'll earn my money back in 1 month with adsense or w/e

anyways my friend already got hosting so he said i can put my site on it
so i only need to buy a domain.. i thought about namecheap.com but then i pay 10 dollars for the domain only? and do i have to pay more to set it up or to change dns etc?

or would it be better to buy it at hostgator or so because after i earned some i will buy my own hosting, will it be better that i buy it at hostgator or doesn't that matter

BTW I PAY WITH PAYPAL!

    I grab all my domains with namecheap. Better get your domains from a registrar directly than through something like hostgator. Once you've bought it (go to retailmenot.com to find a coupon), there are no further costs other than hosting. The $10 are a fee that is being charged per YEAR so you should have plenty of time to make that back.

      Are you building the adsense sites for Flipping it Later or are you Building an authority site? If you want to flip the site at a later date, when its making enough income for immediate income, you should choose Godaddy. Though I don't like it at all, because it Bombards you with additional upsells before your purchase. But in reality, it is very easy to transfer your site using GoDaddy. Most Site Flippers use Go Daddy. Otherwise use Namecheap.Com because they have amazing Support and you get Whois protection free for the first Year. Search on Google for Namecheap Coupons for March and you'll get the discount Link.

      The coupon is only a discount of a few cents for registering the Domain. Don't connect Hosting with the Domain. If you buy the domain name and Hosting from the same company, if the company for some reason goes down, you'll lose every trace of your site. Its always better to buy Hosting and Domains from separate companies.

      I would recommend Buying Hosting from Hostgator and Buying Domains from Namecheap.

      Whoisguard is a service that protects your personal Details from being viewed Publicly. When you are registering your Domain, you have to give personal Details like Address, Phone No etc. Whoisguard protects these details. You can check every websites Details by typing it in Whois.com.

      Don't bother with Positive SSL, its for people who want to buy and Sell from their websites. In other words its extra security for your site, which obviously you don't need.

      Forget about positiveSSL (or any SSL certificate), absolutely unecessary if you just want to do adsense. If you are processing credit card data or have a sign-up form with private fields (like SSN, address, phone etc.) you should get one but in other cases you don't.

      With namecheap you also get free whoisguard. As Alina pointed out, if you plan to flip the site you should go for godaddy but namecheap works as well and if you decide to flip it you could always transfer it over to godaddy later.

      Godaddy is definitely going to spam you with all kinds of offers and you have to shell out extra money for a whoisguard (and you definitely want to get that one).

    but as i check now my keyword has 0.05 cents for CPC should i continue with it?

    because i don't know hehe, although it has no competition and 4400 local searches, i guess i can monetize with some clickbank offers or anything else
    anyways i registered it lets see what happens.. the money was sitting in my paypal anyways

      Goodluck then. It won't be much use as an Adsense site, but since the Keyword is getting good no of searches, you can Monetize it with affiliate and CPA offers.

    yeah, but adsense doesn't it change to ads based on what people search so i can possible get more for something not related we'll see

    anyways because it is a long tail keyword.. i have 2 keywords which are my main keywords and they have 2dollars as CPC

    Get your domain at namecheap, get the hosting at hostgator.

    You can't beat that price/reliability for a self hosted site with a namecheap/hostgator combo.

    Get the hosting now, don't mess around with trying to move your site later on.

    yeah u currently don't have money so ill go the first month without i guess.. anyways when i go to my site it says cannot find ....
    i've added nameservers to the domain, but it still says cannot find.. and they are correct i double checked.. shall i jsut wait till tomorrow? or how long does it takes?

      It can take up to 24-72 hours depending on the server.

    okay, but the strange thing (i think) is that i could add the domain as an addon to my friends hosting.. but i can't go to the site yet, or is that normal :p

    anyways i'll wait till tomorrow then
