My xfactor-type sites were mass de-indexed!!

I checked in Google webmaster tool, and there were no messages about why my sites were de-indexed. I know the reason for the de-index (thin MFA sites), but Google didn't mention anything in the webmaster tool.

Has this happened to anyone of you guys? If so, did you ever get your site re-indexed on Google?

Thanks!

Yeah xfactor sites tend to get deindexed, sense they have a reputation of being spamy whenever they go under manual review they take em down

I dont think the problem is the "content" but more that the theme layout of most xfactor sites is really bad from a visitors point of view since they are made to only make people click on ads. Poor searches experience = bad for google's main business (search) so that's why they ban people.

Maybe add more content and see if there is an improvement. How many sites were effected?

just remember that john (xfactor) has always recommended that you that flesh out sites, ie add content to them on a regular basis, you'll find that google likes content. Most xfactor based sites i found on the search engines i come across doing niche research where a maximum of 5 pages (not including about/contact/etc).

if you start adding some content to the sites, and making them worthwhile for visitors to visit, then you should find they'll come back into the serp's over time.

This is the reason I don't use MFA themes. It isn't too hard to optimize a nice clean theme for adsense. I always use a different theme for every 10-15 sites I make.

Xfactor provides a template that 100's of people use. Those 100's of people each have 5+ websites. You're looking at 1,000's of websites all with the same footprint.

It doesn't take long for people that don't use their imagination and see how something could be tweaked and enhanced to kill a method like that.

Exactly, using a MFA theme puts the spotlight on you and any imperfections will show.

Ok, here's the deal. You need to answer these questions.

    1. How exactly did you backlink your sites? (mass submission? spinning? blog network?)

    2. How many AdSense websites are under your 1 AdSense account?

    3. How many pages did you have for 80% of your sites?

Do you think you could share a site with us so we can look at it and tell you why it may have been de-indexed? If you don't want to list it in this thread, then send me a PM with the URL.

There are a couple of things john has always stressed to people, but most didn't listen, The first is keep working on the sites, don't leave them at 3-4 posts, they are considering low quality and google will take action against them.

Second is Xfactor always has said, make your own theme and don't copy his, just base your on a similar layout. People didn't know how to do this, so they just copied, and now they have been effected by it.

With the google Farmer Update, it seems to of hit alot of the Micro niche sites that only had a few pages. You had to expect this to happen in the end, as google has always stated that they don't want sites targeting ads only, and should provide good quality content.

Create quality sites and you won't have this problem. Farmer / Panda updates have finally caught up with crappy sites. Good thing for those of us who bust butt to produce quality sites that people actually want to return to again and again.

John's new course talks about Authority sites. If you follow that game plan, you'll not have any issues at all.

Don't know why you included Clickbump in the title of this post as the CB Engine has absolutely nothing to do with why your sites were de-indexed. Using the Clickbump Engine actually helps you build sites that are anything but cookie cutter sites. Add in the Clickbump SEO product and your sites will do extremely well and you'll never have to worry about the next Google update.

But - if you put up crappy sites, it won't make any difference what WP Theme or products you use. With any luck, the sites won't be around more than a few days. Burned me up to see the crappy sites ranking so well. Damn shame that those who were looking for a free ride actually have to work now.

Did you really feel the need to tweet about the fact you had crappy sites and drag John and Scott's products through the mud?

      [QUOTE]

What makes people think 'authority sites', i.e. sites with ~100 pages are not going to have problems? When earnings reach $100 a day barrier or so, there is likely to be a human inspection. If the design is not upto scratch or the sites are overly loaded with Ads, there may be difficulties.

The types of sites Google love are the ones where the placements are not prominent and the info is the main feature. Of course with this approach, the click through rate will be low. So one has to receives loads of traffic to make it worthwhile. And on top of that, I am thinking, there are nieches where most of the people are not looking to read articles, they are seeking something else like an e-commerce site or video or graphics.

    Bummer man, that sucks.

I've never had sites de-indexed.. but I did happen to buy a banned domain name. I submitted it for reconsideration to get re-indexed. I think it's been 5+ months and no contact from G, no re-index.. nothin.

    Hopefully yours works out better.

I have only just started making sites based on X-factors Auth course, i can say i am already starting to get some results for 2 of the 4 sites i have created. I haven't been posting content every day either, One is in the car insurance niche, only 10 articles so far, but already gotten a few searches from google. The Auth Course is a large expansion from his MNS course, and i can say for sure those sites worked as long as you followed the instruction =).

Sorry to hear that. That's never a good thing to wake up to. How much were they earning?

There could be all kinds of factors leading them to getting deindexed. Unless you were violating some webmaster guideline, it is likely that the theme wouldnt really have anything to do with it. The content on the theme, where your ads are placed and whom you link to will.

The key to not getting deindexed in Google is to make sure that you are providing their searchers with value. If you do that, the type of theme you use shouldnt matter.

Put yourself in the position of a Google employee looking for garbage websites that rank high but dont provide real value. If you were to review your website would you de-index it?

My sites had over 10 pages of content.

    Contents are not outsourced.

Had them for over a year, and haven't touched them since.

About 20% of sites did not get deindexed. To answer people's questions to see if my sites were really deindexed, the answer is YES when I do a siteurl)

All the designs were the same ugly green sites.

    My AdSense is not banned.

I had over 130 of these sites, and some were making $7-8 per day.

I am really sorry to hear the misfortune. I reckon you reached a certain earnings threshold which called for a manual inpection. On a positive note, at least you made some reasonable money while it lasted.

The question is then, what was different about 20% of sites that didn't get deindexed compared to the 80% that did?

Did they have more content ?
    Did they have different themes?
did they have advertising on them? (or advertising in a different way)

You could try adding more content a couple of sites, put on a new theme, and possibley reduce the amount of advertising. After that, submit a request consideration with google, and see if they get put back in (it could take several weeks).
