What would you do in this situation??

Say you have... "BigBlueHats.com" and your ranked #4 on Page 1 of google for the keyword "Big blue hats"

you find out that "Blue Hats" has 5x more searches/month and your on page 1 of google in the #10 spot already.

The competition is fairly low..

Do you either..

1) make a brand spankin new website for the keyword "Blue Hats" and rank solely based on that keyword.

2) Use your already existing micro niche website that your ranked #10 on and try to gain a higher rank.

  • When trying to rank for keywords of such similarity, I always find it easier to use the same site.

    • I suggest to create a new domain to that particular keyword, then just re-direct it to your original website. Yes, you are on the top but the traffic is low, so it will not make money.right?
  • Keep going with the original site and just interchange some of your "big blue hats" backlinks with "blue hats" anchor text. Typically works for me. Don't waste your time with a new site that's similar because eventually you will favor one anyway.
