Do I have to be indexed in google before analytics will work?

I just put the code into wordpress plugin which worked with my other site but it didn't with this one.

So I was guessing maybe it was cos my site isn't indexed yet. Maybe it's something else but that was my 1st guess in which case I'll just wait a bit. If not then I'll have to look in to what else it might be.

    No, you don't need to be intexed in Google. Analytics works through JavaScript, which code uses browser, not servers.

    You also have to wait 1 day after you correctly installed the code so the data will be processed.

    No, the moment you install the analytics and you start getting traffic to your website eg just yourself and your friends visiting it will be picked up.
