I was wondering if .edu forum profile links ever get indexed?

Can anyone confirm whether they do or do not?

Yes they do, why would they not. Like with any of this sort of backlinking some links take longer to index than others that's why people bookmark their forum links or add them to RSS feeds etc.

Forum marketing does more hard than good if you don't know what you are doing. Even if you do, there really is not a ton of value.

Yes, absolutely; the problem is that most people don't take the time to do the work that is necessary sometimes to get them indexed.

Backlinking is the best way, especially with backlink energizer as mentioned earlier.

Also pinging can often help. Linklicious is a good site for that and they have a free option too.

Also keep track of what's indexed and what isn't. Keep working on the ones that aren't.
Scrapebox is the easiest way to check indexed vs non indexed.

Yes this. There isn't much of a difference between .edu, High PR, or normal profiles, in terms of SEO and indexing. They all take a while to index because it takes spiders a while to get into all these profiles since they are so distant from the main domain, and they are all very similar in terms of SEO value as well because of this distancing.

Yes they do. There's plenty of guestbook edu sites that get indexed pretty regularly. And for the ones that require a profile link then just ping them after you're done.

Absolutely. It is important to have a wide range of links from different TLDs. .edu are a good part of your backlinking strategy. As long as robots.txt file allows access to the page then it should be indexed.

Of course they get indexed. As with all things they take time so they will show up slowly and steadily as G crawls pages.

If you're in a hurry you can ping them or submit them to social bookmarking sites but I recommend spending you time building more links.

profile links take a longer time to get indexed compared to other links. Many people will use tools like backlink energizer or backlink booster to increase the indexation rate as well as more link power
