Low adsense pay per click

Hi,

I'm quite annoyed. I have a site with good traffic (e-commerce) and I have hacked a plugin so that my adsense appears in the search field. I use seachtime tagging 2 plugin so that keywords appear when the user comes from a search engine. I have the search feature on and have hacked it so adsense displays then. While this still gets me 20 odd clicks a day I only make about £2.50 a day. I'm looking at ways to increase this.

I also have it set up so that it displays adsense based on IP address on my content pages. Although there's no real content on there since it's just product photos. Any tips to increase my earnings? Even a slight increase would be dramatic since I get 20-30 clicks a day.

Thanks

  • I am not sure what you mean with the hacked search feature, are you showing adsense as the search results? Forcing or deceiving in that way is against TOS, not sure what you are doing is though. But, back to the topic. To get a high adsense pay per click, it depends on your keyword, something like chocolate lollipops will probably have a really low CPC because it is a cheap item, while on the other hand something like New York Lawyers, may have a CPC of $10. So just do your research and pick a good term.

    • I hacked a wordpress plugin so that it's custom built for me. It's not against TOS

I have no control over the keywords on the search feature though.
  • Adsense pay per click depends on the niche you have. Some niches like game and entertainment has low pay per click.
  • If you are selling yourself - it doesn't make sense to cannibalize sales.
