WP Zon Builder Footprint?

Warriors,

Id like to get feedback from those who've been using the plugin. I've been going through websites that use it and I definitely see a footprint. I'm pretty sure G does too.

I'm NOT saying i've seen a site get penalized for it. I simply want to figure out how to completely change the names of files and templates within the plugin to avoid a footprint. I've seen the plugin creator talk about it in some thread but did not give enough detail to actually implement it.

So, in a nutshell.. How do you guys avoid leaving a footprint with this plugin?

Cheers!

Croz, let me answer this in the best way I know how - with Empirical Evidence.

In 2007 - 2008, text link ads came up with its own plugin that placed ads.

They did everything under the sun to make the plugin unoticeable by the spiders.

Guess what it didn't work. Sites lost Google PR en blok. Foot prints are difficult to hide and once you are trying to hide them then its something that you should NOT BE DOING.

Devid, that's exactly why I said what I said. I'm not quite sure you've used the plugin I was referring to. As far as hiding footprints go, it's always better to be safe than sorry and with a plugin like wp zon builder it's very easy to hide a footprint by changing the templates and customizing them. The post was to see if there are any warriors who have already done it.

    Cheers!

Whats a footprint? I'm thinking of buying this plugin, is there a problem with using such plugins?

It means that each page generated by the plugin has some text etc on it that is the same each time. For example each page built might have "built by WPZon" as the footer.

This means that Google could then find all sites built using the plugin and penalize them en masse, lowering their rankings.

It is better to avoid these things and do manually.

It seems like google is punishing sites that use this. I had 1 site sandboxed and 2 sites drop out of top 100.
