Why Are My Domains Not Ageing?

I have searched the forum but can't find anything on this, so hope someone can enlighten me. Hoping this is not a dumb question...

A have a few domains which have just turned a year old in Jan/Feb. At present they are still showing zero domain age - why is that?

I have a couple of domains which were aged when I got them and they are continuing to age - but not the ones I started from 0.

I also noticed that a site my partner has, which is about five years old, still shows no domain age.

Can anyone tell me why this is?

Thanks

Pauline

  • Which plugin are you using to get the domain age?
  • Do you have real websites on them, or are you using the parked domain service at the domain registrar.

I have heard that using the park domain services allows the very thing to happen that you are describing.
  • I have checked using Market Samurai and Traffic Travis.

I have live sites on them, none are parked.

    • PM me the domain name and I can look into it with a couple of other tools.

      Cheers!
  • More importantly, why do you care?

You're splitting hairs over stuff that doesn't matter. If your site is indexed by google that's all that really matters.

Google has an opinion of your site and you'll never know what it is. Best to move along to more important things and leave google to its googlesque lifestyle.

Back to your question, just because a tool has a feature doesn't mean it works or is accurate.
  • I'm not splitting hairs, I am curious about why, thats all.
  • I've actually wondered about this myself (and I do care). My main money site is over 2 years old now and still shows "no age" in seo quake. also just checked in MS, which pulls from Majestic, and it's the same thing. no age.

    I don't get it.

    • Many of the tools you're using to check domain age have been having problems lately. I read a post somewhere that said it had something to do with the recent google changes. So they're probably in the process of updating MS. Infact, I upgraded my copy of MS the other day.

Go below and check your domain age. If these sites come back with accurate info, then don't worry because Google can see that too.
