Page Rank Question

Hello Warriors.

I might be paranoid, but should I worry if my website has 2 different page ranks.

If I use wwwdotmywebsitedotcom it shows page rank 2
If I use mywebsite.com it shows page rank 1.

Does it matter at all or am I just paranoid.

Thanks for your help.

  • Yes,

    http://www.yourwebsite

    is a different page to:

    http://yourwebsite

    According to search engines.

It's called Page Rank not Site Rank so they will rank differently.

My advice, point the lower PR domain to the higher PR domain with a 301 redirect.

Looks like you have been creating backlinks to the www version as well as the non-www version...?

    Cheers,
    Dave

    • HI

Yes search engine treated it differently. For this purpose you can do the following activies

      (1) change your index.html file to your website name in all pages

      (2) You can use 301 redirect

      (3) One option in Google Webmaster Tools if you are familiar with Google Webmaster Tools

      Thanks
  • every site has pages with different page ranks, so its normal

    • I never even worry about page rank, it's irrelevant to making money. I have sites on page one for competitive terms, 0 page rank, but the conversion and traffic work for me...so who cares?
  • you should set it in google webmaster tool. claim both with www. and without www as your site and change the settings to make google consider them as the same site
