Does Facebook allow SEO work such as xrummer, submitting to directories, and other backlinking techniques?

  Don't you think it would be easy to get your profile page to rank well in search engines, since it is on a high PR authority site like Twitter or Facebook?

Anything that deals w/ xrummer - I avoid. Pretty much spamming - isn't it???

  It is not recommended to spam other websites with your fan page link, but I don't think facebook will ban your page for doing this. If they did, then it will be very easy to take your competitors down. All it takes will be a xrumer blast.

  You can rank a social media page just like any other page, but why would you?
  
  Facebook or Twitter would then control your website, your asset.
  
  You spend $1000 on backlinking your site to #1, then a moderator comes along and bans your page because you put an affiliate link on it or something.
  
  Just build your own site, on your own domain. It's $12 + Hosting, and you'll be glad you spent the extra money.
