PPC Global Searches 6.5 million but I get Two Per Day, Why?

I have found a keyword with 6.5 million searches based on adwords but I only get 2 impressions per day. I have bid $1 per click and a daily budget of $15 on a keyword that is $0.05 per click based on Adwords.

Am I missing something or is google lies? Is there any way I can double check adwords numbers.

This is crazy

Any helps is appreciated.

Thank you

V.

  • So what's the title and text in your Adword ad?

    • Maybe you found a keyword with millions of traffic but the PBR % is 0, so it means it's useless. Try analyze your keywords you are using in Market Samurai. Try to make Keyword Research first before you start your campaign.

  • I'm not so experienced in PPC so I learned this thing, thanks for your question.
  • Any time you see a five cent click estimate in Google's keyword tool, it is not to be taken seriously. It is likely a default value because of insufficient data. Remember too that it's only an *estimate* and based on typical quality score.

You say 6.5 million searches, which invalidates my insufficient data comment. My guess is you are using a one-word keyword in the broad match. Expand your keyword.

The other thing is, what is your CTR? It won't mean anything for just a couple of clicks but how many of those 6.5 million searches are you showing for? Assuming that number correct (per month), even if you paid five cents, on a $15 budget you would show your ads to nowhere near all those searches (216,000 per day).

We also don't know your QS or your average position, two things that would help as would knowing how much you actually paid for those clicks.

    • Market Samurai says 56,476 instead of 6.5 million but 0% PBR. Meaning there is a big inconsistency between the two numbers.
      • Does anyone knows why?
For the two clicks that I got I paid $0.15 having a 5/10 quality score.

What baffles me is that at least I should see my impression being 1000 per day but I get 30.

Are you suggesting I should get my QS to 10 and then try again? Is it even worth to try since PBR is 0%?

Thank you for your helpful feedback

  • It all depends on the keyword. I found a keyword that had millions of searches (both phrase and exact) and no adwords competition, but google did not let me bid on it because most of the natural search engine results were .gov sites.
