Articles on high PR sites with low PR pages

I'm trying to figure out this article-based backlinking thing and I'm a little confused. Let's say I find a PR7 article index that allows me to submit articles to their site. My article will be a page with no PR (to start, and maybe to stay). So is the backlink BETTER because the main site is a PR7 or is it equal to a backlink from a PR0?

its more equal to a back link from PR0 page, but the link will get some weight from it's home page where PR is 7. However the PR0 page also can get some PR after sometime, so getting back links from PR0 pages are also good.

It actually have an equal value with that particular page, but the good thing is, the homepage will give a link juice to that page.
