1st Page Google Ranking Dissapeared!

Hi,

My website that was on the 1st page of Google totally dissapeared.

In the first week of march ( 1 month ago ) I decided to test Scrapebox and use the auto poster. I sent comments to more then 2000 websites and out of these 2000 only 120 were actually LIVE links that were on blogs. The rest of the comments were either sent for modaration or spam.

On the 15th of March my website dissapeared in the search engines, but on the 22 march, my site was ranked again, but in the 170th position in Google.

As of today, my ranking is 140th in Google.

As my website had been on the 9th or 10th place in Google for more then a month I decided to do some backlinking and increase my rankings to reach the top 3 spots in Google, however instead of increases my rankings were nowhere to be found in Google, so I've been wondering if this is just the Google Dance or whether my website has been penelized?

Anybody like to explain what's going on and whether I will end up back on the 1st page.

Thanks,

yikes! I have heard others complain about this but it seems as there is a problem. If you didn't change anything on your site and only did what you just explained, where the links high PR ? Remember to go for quality and not quantity. Now you must climb the serps all over again. With backlinks and so on. Just be careful with quality and slow down a bit.

Welcome to the club. I've noticed that some of our words that were heavily ranked on forum profiles and so forth took the biggest hit, while ones with a mixture of manually posted high PR links have weathered the storm pretty well and improved in some instances.

are you trying to rank your site for a high competitive keyword ? this happens sometimes for new sites. Just wait several months and check again.

    • Yip, your site is just doing the google boogie. It's common, don't worry about it.

Well it's not too competitive as it was ranking on the 1st page of Google with just around 10 backlinks according to Yahoo.

I used to get around 10 uniques a day on the 9th and 10th position.

But now, when I check it gives back 58 backlinks according to Google.

But, I really want to know whether this is just Google Dance or something else.

I once had a new site rank page 1 for a competitive term and it fell to 300+ ranking for 1 month but I keep building links non stop and it came back to page 1 and remain there. It happens quite often for new sites so don't worry and keep building links

    Sounds like you're dancing.

Just be careful with tools like Scrapebox. A lot of people will take a list of thousands and just blast away at once. Instead, spread it out and incorporate as many different backlinking methods as possible. Never just rely on a single method and you'll be fine.

Sounds like your system is very powerful op. Can I hire you to backlink to my competitors sites? If what you say is true it will knock their sites down too!

Sometimes when you add many links to your website quickly, the ranks would drop, no matter whether or not your website has been on page one for a long time. In such cases, patience is needed, stop doing further links for a while and see what happens. Google wants to make sure the links are valid and valuable always.

Of course such practices might not generate very big impacts on older websites which have already been powered by very strong one way links.

Patience is the name of the game with seo. Plus you need to be running at least 50 other campaigns simultaneously. That way you won't panic when you see sites dip below the radar. Plus you'll grow some unbelievably strong seo muscles in the process.

Gary, I just posted a very similar occurrence for 2 of my sites....submitted a couple of social bookmarks and the next day my rankings were gone, from page 2 to page 66 or 101. It's been that way for about 3 weeks, I'm unsure of what to do next except continue to build backlinks like people say and have patience. I also wonder if it's the Google Dance or something else.

Have you added dodgy outbound links to your site or engaged in some enthusiastic keyword stuffing? If not, then it's simply 'the dance'. Keep building some diverse links and you'll back there soon enough.

Google went through massive ranking changes recently. They changed their ranking algorithms to appreciate more unique content and site linking structure alot more. That could be a reason . But not the reason you dropped that much.

You probably dropped that much because you blew up your site with 2k potential links. And 120 links for sure.
Your site age also plays a huge role when link building on that scale. You just can't go and throw 120 links on top of zero. It looks un-natural to google.

Take a look at this blog. It's pretty darn popular ... Google/SEO

I understand that building hundreds or thousands of links at the same time will have a negative effect, but Google doesn't index and crawl all links at the same time.

Because I've noticed that in the first 10 days after I created these links, none of these links were crawled and then suddenly on the 11th day, Google somehow crawled lots of blog posts with my backlinks.

So maybe because Google crawled 50 links in 1 day, maybe that could be the problem?

Anyway not too sure, will post back if I EVER see my website back on page 1.

Big g noticed a big change so he decided to put you on 140 place ti see if your backlinks will continue to come. Use the tool with moderation and dont use it to take other sites down becauce you could give them more power insted of problems

  • Junk links leave a footprint you can't remove.

If you want to "Test" things don't do it on sites that are ranking already. sheese.

I think it is due To Panda Algorithm.. Google has penalized your website... First you have to perform proper on page optimization with unique and fresh content in it.. Then You have to remove all of back links which you got from auto poster plugins..

    Hi gary15,

Wow, people are speculating all sorts of things, but I have yet to see one correct answer, in my opinion, to your original question.

You just described the effects of a temporary boost caused by a feature of Google Search that is called QDF (Query Deserves Freshness). It seems we have at least one or two post every week where someone asks virtually the same question, over and over (some days I feel like I'm the character played by Bill Murray in Groundhog Day the movie).

It's classic QDF, you will come to expect its' effects as your experience grows in building web content.

I think it has something to do with the quality of the links. As you've explained, I think you have done proper SEO, so better to build quality backlinks and see what will happen.

Your site is not "google dancing". It has tripped a penalty. Ever since the Panda update it seems like Google has made other changes when it comes to spammy backlinks.

Mass forum profile backlinks don't work anymore longterm. If you blast your site with a lot of them there is a 70% chance you will trip a penalty filter. Unfortunately, this penalty lasts for 3 months. After the 3 month penalty is up, your site will pop back right where it was before the penalty.

How do i know this? Because I've actually tested this (mass forum profile backlinks) on 10 of my Amazon sites. After I did this, 7 of the 10 sites got sandboxed and dissapeared from the search results. Then, 2 of them reappeared on page 2 of google almost to the day, that the 3 months went by. The other 5 haven't returned yet because the 3 month penalty hasn't expired yet.

So here are the possible reasons why forum profile backlinks don't work anymore.
    1. Google can see the footprint of these links a mile away and devalue them immediately (why would any legitimate website be getting links from forum profiles - think about it).

    2. Or -- Let's say you blast your site with 2000 forum profile backlinks like I did. Google sees them all over the course of a week or so. But then, the forum moderators start deleting most of them. So the first week you had 2000 backlinks. But by week number 3 you only have 100. Google will definitely penalize your site if you lose a ton of backlinks quickly. This is most likely what causes the penalty.

One other thing. Ignore the advice that most are giving in this thread. Have you noticed their sig links? They sell backlink packages so they are really "defensive" about google penalties. They think that these penalties don't exist. But they do. I've built over 130 websites over the years and have gotten some of my sites penalized and a couple actually de-indexed doing stupid stuff.

So stay away from mass blog commenting and mass forum profile backlinks. They will eventually put your site in the "hole" for 3 months or worse!

P.S. -- And don't buy that crap that you're hearing about building mass profile backlinks to your first tier backlinks either. That can also penalize your money site. I know because I've tried it a few times.

    Best of Luck!

I think Google Dance also. I do SEO for a website. It ranks 1st position on Google few months, but one day this disappear, I still add backlinks frequently, not too much 10-20 per days, and now it rank 1st position for long tail keyword, and 2nd position for shorter keyword. You may check by copy your website link to Google. If it is still show your site, do not worry, you just need to add more quality backlinks. You can do it manually for hire someone do it but make sure they do it by manually. This is a good way to recover your rank.
