  • I used to have all in one seo pack and I wasn't thrilled. I did switch to Headspace2 and I am beyond thrilled. I have never tried yoast. good luck!
  • In addition to those plugins you also want to think about how you use your categories and tags - they're an important part of SEO'ing your WordPress site. More info here:

  • I heard good things about SEO Presser, a clickbank product that helps improve on page SEO.

As far as free plugins, All In One SEO is recommended by the leading marketers and Google XML Sitemaps are helpful too.
  • Great advice. I am currently working on my site and am implementing alot of this. Thanks
  • All in one SEO is fine, all you need is optimized titles and to add a description. You could also get a decent theme like Thesis
  • All in one seo (you can choose the FV all in one seo, it's easier to setup)
    Google XML Sitemap

Those two should do the work.
Also change the links to category/post title (for example: domain.com/your-category/your-post-title) and put the keyword in the title

    • I also recommend All in one seo pack.
  • I use Headspace 2 or All In One SEO
  • very good one..,informative discussion thankyou
  • Here is a thread about Wordpress plugin http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...s-plugins.html. Hope you will get the answer of your question.
  • All in One SEO Pack, as well as the SEO by Yoast plugins are good, but I've recently begun using Greg's High Performance SEO on a number of sites, I think it's my new favorite.

Another good one (for tagging images) is SEO Friendly Images.

And, assuming you're using pretty permalinks with the postname as part of the url, SEO Slugs is another excellent addition.
  • I'd be happy to help end your confusion > ClickBump SEO!

I can guarantee your satisfaction, and I have hundreds of users in the clickbump user forums who can testify to the results.

    • As it comes, WordPress is relatively SEO friendly. It's link structure makes it easy for the spiders to crawl and the code contains very few (and sometimes no) validation errors. However, there are a few simple steps that can be taken to make your WordPress blogs even more SEO friendly.
      1. Make sure that your page urls contain your blog post's name rather than just a post number. This can be done very easily by going to the permalinks page in settings and typing "/index.php/%postname%" into custom structure field. Alternatively, you can add a rewrite rule in your .htaccess file to have more control over your url syntax.
      2. Change your page title order to put your blog post name before your blog name or date. The first few words in a title are given more weight and will also catch the attention of your readers. This can be done by editing header.php and swapping the order of the PHP tags to put "wp_title" before "bloginfo."
      3. Make good use of heading tags. You may find that your blog entry title is automatically put in a tag whereas your blog's name is in a tag. If this is the case, you can edit these in single.php and header.php respectively in most blog templates. Choose a format that suits you, but you may find that the best solution is to put your blog entry title in a and swap your blog name for an image. Also remember to make good use of other heading tags and use a good heading structure wherever it is suitable.
      4. Avoid any duplicate content issues by using "index, nofollow" tags on category pages, tags pages and archive pages. This will allow search engine spiders to follow links on these pages but ensures that they are not listed in the index. There are several plugins that can make this a simple process and "robotsmeta" is one of the best.
      5. Pay attention to your blog's link structure. Make sure that your blog entries can be accessed with as few clicks as possible and remove unnecessary links on your blog pages to other sites and unnecessary pages within your blog. You may want to use a pagination plugin to help you with this. There are other techniques you can use to maximise you SEO for WordPress but these five steps listed above can have a significant effect on your blog's listings and will only take a matter of minutes to do.

  • I think it doesn't matter much of what kind of SEO plugin are you using. But what matters much is how you optimized the site using those plugin.

I am not using all in one seo on my site but another seo plugin and it still has a good ranking. Again, it depends on how you use them.

Some themes have their own SEO system. You can also use them without any problem. You just need to learn how to optimize.
  • Use "All in one SEO pack". It is one of the best SEO tools for Wordrpess. I have myself used this tool for one of my wordpress blogs.
  • I found All-In-One and Platinum good among others.
  • There are plenty but don't use too many as they will slow your site down which is a factor Google determines your site ranking.

The usual plugins are "AllinOneSEO", permalink redirect etc..
  • Instead of plugins, now I'm using SEO-friendly themes, can set stuff like keywords, descriptions and tags in the Backstage, but All In One SEO Pack is a good plugin I used to use.

    • ameen01,

These two SEO plugins have very competently served me in getting ranked.
SEOPressor, last seen somewhere around $97,
SEO Beast, last seen somewhere around $33, and evolving fast.

      Good Luck,
