The Google Dance!

Had a site that was more than 3 months on page 1 in Google UK and top was #3 only a day before it disappeared and in Google.com it was on page 2 all the time.

Suddenly the home page that was on those pages for more than 3 months is no where to be found and I find an inner page (links page) of the site on page 8-9 of Google.

So I guess it's the Google dance but why so late?

I know I should continue building links to it but what scares me is that I have no idea when the site will be back up again. I have a site that is dancing for more than 1-2 months now and if it's back to where it was or a bit higher, it's for 1 day and then gone again for ages.

Ideas?

It just pisses me off!!!

When I do the - site:my site on Google

I get results and all the pages of my site are shown.

Anyone else had this? When did the site got back?

Thanks guys,

same thing with many of my blogs - to say that organic search rankings is frustrating is an understatement!! i am no expert but what i have been doing with my sites is to add some original content and of course, keep backlinking. i have seen some movement upwards again but who knows......i guess ultimately the best biz model is to become an expert in a specific niche and to build a list of raving fans! google cant take that away with a click of a button.

It's frustrating and idiotic, there is no sense of doing this.
My sites have also original content, I do build links, why after more than 3 months on page 1 in UK and page 2 in COM Google decides it's dance time?

And I have no idea when the sites will be back up...

Are your sites back or still dancing?

      Thanks,

I had a young site that was ranking on page one in the UK until yesterday. Now its down to position 600 or something. It's all original (good) content and its fallen out of the sky.

The site and the pages that were ranking well are still indexed and if I search for a specific phrase in any of the articles they comes up number one.

I'm thinking I did too much backlinking (I bought some packages, but didn't ping any of them). I'm still novice. Not sure if any one has any other thoughts? not sure whether to just keep on building gradually, or whether its even recoverable.
