I would like the answer to the following question. i am looking to develop 5 Separate Strategies to deliver FREE TRAFFIC to a site and would also like some sort of METRICS as to how effective each strategies are. So let us say that each strategy needs to create 20 visits to a site. Let us also assume that we decided to use say Video marketing.

What i am looking for is some sort of metric like assuming that the video gets 5 views a day and 20% of the people

clicked through the link then i would need 20 videos to get me 20 visits a day. (1video x 5 views x 20% = 1 therefore 20 videos)

or maybe

1 article 10 views per day 20 percent clickthrough so 10 articles needed.now i know these Metrics Wont be exact but i would like SOME Ideas Please.

so all in all 5 strategies with metrics.

Thank you very much in advance for all your suggestions

A lot of the click throughs will depend on the content you give and how strong your call to action is.

You can use article marketing, facebook, twitter, videos, guest posting on other blogs, squidoo, hubpages, SEO and lots more.

Focus on your link building, keep it consistent and diverse. For other sources of traffic, try posting on relevant forums and yahoo answers. I used to pull in a lot of hits from popular forums in my niches.

    Hello Friends,

Traffic is the one thing is seems like everyone needs, but almost no one knows how to get. Traffic makes the web go 'round, but why is it so difficult to get?
Well, there may be millions of people surfing the internet at any given time, but there are also millions of websites out there. In 2006, it was estimated that there were over 100 million websites on the internet.
That number has rises substantially since then. Internetworldstats.com claims there are approximately 1.3 billion people in the world with internet access.
That means if web traffic was divided equally between all websites, there would only be about 13 visitors per website. Of course, we know traffic isn't distributed evenly, or fairly. Sites like Google and MySpace get millions of visitors, while some sites get none at all.

    Thanks

A lot of traffic relies on content - have a blog on your site and update it regularly with fresh content relevant to your niche. This builds the credibility of your site, boosts your SEO, and keeps visitors interested and coming back.

Repurpose the content (keep your own content unique though) and syndicate it through article marketing. Click-throughs from articles can be up to 500% more likely to opt-in on your site for example, simply because they've been 'pre-sold' after reading the article.

Build a list on your site, build a relationship with them (don't just push product) and keep them coming back to your site ... ensures your business stays front of mind.

The trick is not so much traffic, but what you do with it.

As for video marketing, you have to have a strong call-to-action especially if it is found on YouTube. This is because YouTube makes its site so "addictive" for viewers to stay on YouTube and keep clicking on "related videos" until the visitor one day clicks on one of the promoted videos or ads. Remember, they are owned by a publicly-traded company!

Here are some examples of increasing click-throughs from video to your site:

    1) Have a Part One/Part Two structure. Give away 10 tips, with the first 5 being in your YouTube video. The viewer who likes the video would take your call to action in the video and type in the URL (or click the link in the description field) to get Part Two which on your site, preferably on a landing page

    2) Use the Problem-Agitate-Solution formula. Present a problem in the YouTube video (tagged & titled with problem-related keywords). Then you would "agitate" by talking a little bit about the pains. Offer a minor solution in the video. Then give a call-to-action to have the viewer come to your site to get the main solution/resolution to the problem

    3) Be creative with your video. If you offer something entertaining or unique, be sure to have a call to action based around eliciting curiosity or fascination in the viewer. Structure your video so that they simply "have to learn more about" whatever your site addresses. Focus on the the psychology of fascination & curiosity, and read good books and online sites on the subject

There are other ways to increase click-throughs, and the earlier replies address many of those ways (e.g. articles, links to the site & videos, etc.). Wish you well!
