What gets flagged when an Adwords account is slapped?

Hi guys,

Here is my issue with PPC - I have had an account slapped about 6 months ago. I was promoting some sites that Google found dodgy. Since then I have completely shifted my efforts but I still have the same issues. I made a new account and the quality score was 3/10 within minutes for all my keywords.

Then, I opened a third account, from a new computer with a new IP address and using my GF's name and credit card. Again the same thing happened. Now I am sure that the websites I am promoting now are not dodgy.

So, my question is this - what could be getting flagged when a slap happens? An IP? A computer? The name? Address? Website server IP?

Emailing their support is getting me nowhere. I keep getting generic responses about increasing the bids and improving the quality of the content?

Maybe if I got new hosting for my future websites?

What do you guys think?

Intresseting, I have the same question. I would say the easiest way for google to really destroy for someone would be to ban domain and cc.

I also got banned but to be honest I think that FB is a far better market anyway so I'm not even going to bother trying to get Google Adwords going again. FB rules are far easier to adhere to and as long as you don't blatantly overdo things you won't get much flack, maybe an ad disapproved here and there that you can amend and resubmit but FB is nothing like the Google Police Squad. The only thing about FB is that it is sometime inconsistent, you can place exactly the same ad text, picture and landing page a number of times targeting different audiences and countries and one of the ads will be approved and the other disapproved. Another plus point is that the ads generally cost you less than Google.

      Hi Eoon,

The AdWords Quality Score is made up from a number of factors. The most significant influencer of Quality Scores is the CTR. The keyword historical CTRs will influence Quality Scores, in other words, if you pick a historically poor performing keyword you will get a low quality score right out of the gate. It will then adjust based on your actual performance.

You should do careful keyword research and create separate ad groups for each keyword. Avoid any keyword that may have ambiguous relevancy. Use exact match and phrase match keywords, avoid the use of broad match. Research and use negative match keywords for your phrase match keyword ad groups to prevent any irrelevant phrases from triggering ad impressions.

Only use keywords that are highly relevant for the content on the landing page. Use the AdWords Keyword Tool to discover which keywords are the most relevant for your landing page. If you want to target other keywords, then create new landing pages that are optimized for the keywords you are targeting.

Finally, be sure to include the exact keyword you are targeting within the ad text of each ad you create for a particular keyword. Write compelling ads that encourage clicks so that you maintain a high CTR.
