I can't believe this is really happening. Last Feb I registered 5 .biz domains in different tough niches and wanted to experiment. 3 on health, one on sports, and one of freebies (my sig). I started doing promotion later February and yesterday, my CB sales suddenly increased by unexpected number. I checked and it is on top 2 behind the com!! Last time I checked it was on 3rd page. Domain has 85K exact US searches. I said wow, SEO is not all about domain extension... It's all about what you are doing and how you do it...

More .biz domains to come..

Don't let this get out. Drives domain sellers and resellers crazy.
They have a habit of populating forums with only a "dot com"
mentality, coming up with all sorts of ideas that ride on unicorns.

      What details?

I SEOed the site heavily ONpage and posted it to my lists of 50 web 2.0 manually, and posted to another self hosted blogs manually on their sidebars. Posted in some forums and signatures. No article submission nor social bookmarking done yet... The site was actually sandboxed for around 2 weeks but it bumped too high when it returned.. it has currently around 1300 BLs.

All it takes to get rid of all the spam online is to raise the price of .info and all the spammers are out of business.

I wonder what they used before .info came about.

I bought a .biz a while back . . . then started beating myself up after reading some threads in the WF that talked about how ranking a .biz was really hard. I haven't had any more trouble ranking it than I have with a .com.

I do want to say to those who think that .info are for spammers or rank hardly that is totally FALSE!!!
I have many .info and not only because they are cheap (even if 99cents is damn cheap!), but because most of the time the .com and the others are already taken, and I can tell you that I rank very good some .info, and people click on it, click on my ads and buy the amazon product I there promote ! So I don't believe all the .whateveritis is better that .whateveritis2

I registered a .biz for a spec local home improvement site rental. EMD for one term. Ranks just like a .com. Gets clicks.

It's a good alternative. The .com advantage is mainly for high investment businesses that'll get good branding.

I just bought a .pro for a personal local site. We'll see what happen. It sounds good. cityhomes.pro
