Good keywords for a local restaurant?

I am trying to get some local places to do more online marketing. Could anyone think of some good keywords to bid on for a local restaurant or tell me how to tell which would be good ones without typing them in 1 by 1 to get their stats? Thanks.

    I suggest you to go to Google adwords keyword tool and search for it. Anyone can suggest you but you yourself know better than anyone what you are going to have and what you website is.Am i true?

    Google keyword tool would be a good idea. There are lots of Keyword generator tool available, just give a try in google.

    my personal experience in seo is that , if you researching for local restaurant then it should be long tail keyword , for example if any body searches for "forum"
    then google will return millions of result from the world . but if you search "forum in india " then google will return you only forum from india only .just like the above example keywords become longer if you go for the local .

    As a seo optimizer i suggest you use the google adword keywords tool to find out the relevant keywords for your site.Just open the site and paste one relevant keyword and see google will show you the result for your keyword and as well as for other many relevant keywords for the competition and the traffic too.
    Using this report you can see which keywords are best, choose those key words which have less competition and more traffic and searches.After that slowly slowly you can also use the highly competitive keywords later.
    you can type for example best restaurant in "city name" and the google will provide the full list of the all related keywords and according to the marketing.

    Keyword selection depends on what approach you are going to take - it's SEO or Adwords? We always need to take this into consideration. If you can provide that details, may be I can suggest you the right way for keywords selection.

    In general, you can use -
    restaurant name
    restaurant name location
    restaurant name pincode
    restaurant name city
    competitors name
    cuisine type restaurants

    etc.
