Website disappears from page #1 Google?!?

Hello. I recently built a few blogs aiming to generate affiliate $$$.

After about 2-3 weeks, one of my wordpress sites was #7 on page 1 for its targeted phrase.

Then it fell off the face of the planet. Its been a week. When I search for the url, it shows in the results. But when I search for the targeted key phrase it is nowhere to be found(checked the first 10 pages).

Could this be the notorious "Google Dance" or have I been Banned or discounted?

Thanks for any advice

Most likely its a google dance. It happens to everyone. The way you can tell if your site is sandboxed is if you type "site:mydomain.com" into the search box. If nothing is found, then you have been deindexed (sandboxed). If your pages show up, then its a google dance thing.

Sometimes it takes a week or so.

You've posted this in the wrong section of the forum, it should be in the SEO section.

If your site is still indexed there's nothing to worry about.

Just carry on building content, links etc or whatever you were doing.

Eventually it will return, and your position will solidify at some point.

The worst thing to do is nothing.

If you want to know what's really going on then buy Caliban Darklock's WSO here:

He's a former search engine developer and he explains what's really happening when your site is moving around a lot -- well worth the $37 investment.

I think it sounds like the google dance to me, sometimes it takes a while.
Just keep adding content and good backlinks and the site should come back onto page #1 even stronger than before

when I did the site:mydomain.com it returned all the proper pages of the website. It seems that it has not been banned, but yet it does not show up for the targeted key phrase anymore? so this mystical "google dance" thing can last several days even weeks?
