    • A lot of techniques you guys and gals mention are awesome and work with a combined strategy. Add that to a qaulity content plan and you will build a winner if you have done your research and found a respective market that you can compete in. Excellent Suggestions!!!

I agree. Not only is it spam, but these backlinks are virtually valueless anyway. They're non-context-relevant PR-0 backlinks, many aren't indexed anyway, and one typically needs 50,000 or so of them to confer the equivalent link-juice to one relevant authority site backlink.

You can make PDF's of your articles and put them in PDF-directories (the backlinks from the well-known ones aren't bad at all).

You can use blog-searches to find relevant blogs on which you can sometimes leave value-adding comments which their owners will publish with your link intact. It's worth taking time and trouble over these: they can be really excellent backlinks, just because of the context-relevance.

You can approach the owners of relevant sites in your niche, asking them if they'd like "guest posts" and send them copies of some of your articles with a backlink: these can be hugely valuable backlinks.

In general, if you're thinking in terms of quality (which is exactly right), think about relevance and don't worry too much about page rank.

Really? I watched a video from Neil V recently and he said 80% of his traffic comes from forum profile links.

I thought you just had to create an RSS feed of the links then submit it to RSS directories to get them indexed?

I love writing quality comments on high PR URLs, not just sites with high PR home pages, but on high PR URLs.

I also use the ComLuv Network to find more dofollow blog commenting opportunities. This is probably the easiest backlinking strategy I've ever found. The downside is the links go to your most recent post. I figure it's a link to an inner page which is good for link diversity. A major plus (in addition to being ridiculously simple and convenient) is the anchor text is the title of your entire recent blog post.

Most commenting opportunities on the ComLuv Network are low PR. But, I've found PR 3 URLs. That said, many blogs on the ComLuv Network are active which means that a comment made today on a URL with PR 0 may nicely ripen to a PR 1, 2, 3 or higher in time. It's kind of like investing in stocks. If you comment on active, quality blogs, those links will grow in value over time.

They are definitely out there. You can find them manually with the right search footprints and a browser plugin that highlight nofollow links for you.

A tool like Scrapebox will make finding these blogs a bit easier since it automates a lot of the work. Though you'll still spend plenty of time harvesting blogs and checking them.

Most of the higher quality blogs that are dofollow require manual approval from the blog owner. (I don't mind this. It helps keep the spammers away.) If you make a helpful, thought out and on-topic comment you'll have a pretty decent chance of it being approved. Not all of your comments will be approved. But that's not really a problem. You're going for quality over quantity here.

That is not the best way. You must never rely on one form of link building.

You must generate backlinks from a variety of websites, they must be created over time and must be from different geographic areas.

      By variety I mean...

video marketing backlinks, social bookmarks, RSS marketing, blogging, article marketing (syndicated/directory), forum posting, guest commenting, blog commenting, URL directories, press releases, Web 2.0 backlinks, etc, etc.

    • Yea for me high quality links come from blog commenting. The important thing is that you don't spam them, but rather take the time to read the article on the blog, and leave a relevant comment. It may take a little more time, but it will ensure that your comment gets posted. Remember, that you don't need to rush through 1,000 links per month if you are getting high PR links. 50 PR 3 or PR 4 backlinks will give you way more than 1,000 low quality links.

Why don't you create forums posts with signature instead of just creating profile links ? If the forum is relevant to your website, it can bring traffic to your website.

    I have been writing articles.
Links from article directories are Good.

I don't want to do the profile links as it is spam..
Profile links are not spam unless you start creating thousands of links per day using automated tools.

I am currently on page 1 (bottom 3rd of the page).. Anyone have any suggestions?

Create more backlinks. That is the only suggestion.

I try to reverse engineer sites that are ranking well using keyword software. This shows you what high PR backlinks they have. Then I just try to add my link to these pages too. They are usually PR3, PR4 and PR5 blog pages that allow comments. Just adding a few of these each day will definitely help you jump up the rankings in Google.

I like to get high quality backlinks by buying cheap blogroll spaces on high PR blogs (see sig link for more details). It is quick, easy, and isn't "spam" to Google since you can build them very slowly.. but the high PR of these sites makes yours look like an authority.

I also like to do forum posting and blog commenting and social bookmarking and article writing, but goodness knows that is a lot of time spent for a little bit of link juice.. it can get a bit depressing

I can give you one tip: Don't buy WSO's

To find high quality blogs I would start with installing the SEOQuake toolbar for Firefox, then use a footprint like this and type it in at Google:

      "comment + <your keyword> + inurl:blog"

Then pick the pages with the highest PR and leave your comment there. Obvious there are tons of variations on that footprint/search query, just need to be a bit creative.

Quality back links generation is the most important thing in search engine optimization process. Because ranking of your site is mostly depending on your site incoming links and content. If your site have more quality back links and unique content, it will get good traffic results from search engines. There are many link building techniques are used by the webmasters for building quality back links. They are Blog commenting, Forums participation, Social bookmarking, Article submission etc..

I personally think article directories are not even worth posting on anymore, especially since Panda. Ezine Articles lost a huge amount of traffic after Panda. Google's well aware of the fact that most people submit shallow content to these for easy back links and though they may be indexed faster they receive little authority.

You'd be better off posting good articles on your own blog for when the traffic does come or guest posts on high traffic sites to help demonstrate your authority then wasting your time on article directories. You could get better juice and traffic from a well thought out comment on a high dofollow PR blog that takes you a minute to write then the juice on writing an entire article for ezines.

Here are a couple of suggestions for getting quality backlinks:
    • publish your article in blogs that have age, page rank and traffic. You can start by signing up to myguestblog. Pay for publication in blogs that relate to your niche and are already established. It will be worth it in the long run
    • develop a wordpress theme that relates to your niche and distribute it. You can claim a link in sidebar as "powered by"
    • exchange links with other related blogs and sites
    • promote other related sites, one way or the other and they will more likely accept a partnership with you
    • create a powerful video campaign. If your videos are interesting they will be picked up by authority sites and they will link to you as a resource
    • newsworthy press releases. Minimum effort will ensure maximum syndication if you have great content. Use a premium paid news service
    • participate in blogs and forums with useful comments
.... and you can find more strategies if you put your mind into it.

Why spam? They let you leave content and backlinks into your profile, and you do it

Im still using profiles, with greate results, but ofcourse i dont mean using xrumer etc. And old spam techniques.

To get good results with profile backlinks:
    1. Use high pr, high authority web 2.0 sites.

    2. Find sites where you can leave backlink and add some content, the best situation would be, anchorted, intext dofollow links

    3. Submit as much content as you can, even whole articles (unique recommended) to your "bio" section, or where its possible. For google it will looks more like blog post. Try to understand google, its looking for content, even if you submit it to your profile, it will be powerfull!

    4. If you can, search for related sites, but its not obligatory, because you make your profile realted, because of the content you submit.

So its like submitting articles to very high pr(8+?) and authority article directories. Ofcourse you should keep things natural as possible, but high pr web 2.0 sites, have so many users, that they dont even check profiles (in most cases) so your backlinks will stick. If you do it the right way, it wont be deleted even after moderation.

I dont know why im shering that, i should keep it to myself
