Companies like RankPay

I am becoming increasingly interested in giving up on my own SEO efforts and just paying a flat rate to appear on the first page of google for keywords that get over 1 million searches per month. Can anyone suggest some more reasonable company than RankPay, I don't want to pay $1,200 per month.

Now my SEO efforts aren't that bad. I'm able to appear in the top 3 for keywords that get maybe 10,000 per month. What is it that a company like RankPay will do, that I couldn't figure out how to do? I would love to know so that I can just do it on my own.

How can they possibly get me on page 1 for a keyword that gets 1 million or more searches per month and do it, as they promise, in an average time of about 45 days without unethical spamming of the internet with my URL?

They'll do it like any other seo company and just spam out a load of diverse links. They'll use various tools such as xrumer and some auto blog commenter for instance and more than likely have use of a private blog network as well.

So...you want half a million visits a month, but don't want to spend $1200 a month to rank? Some people would think that is peanuts in order to get that kind of traffic.

I dont know a company that would rank your site in the top 3 for a keyword like that and not charge at least $5,000 PLUS a month with no guarantee you will even rank on the first page after a year of link building.

Do the math ----> Say you get in position one for a keyword that get 1,000,000 per month and to be modest lets say the CTR for position number one is 40%... Thats 400,000 ppl a month.

Now again to be modest lets say you sell a $20 product and worst case scenario is your site converts at a measly 1%... Thats 4000 sales a month and $80,000.00 in gross revenue PER MONTH - Using just modest figures....

...And you dont want to pay $1,200 a month?

      I think you're dreaming lol

Very true. Many people only see the numbers but dont understand the value.

      Let's see here:
      • 1 million visits per month
      • Convert 1% of that traffic into sales = 10,000 customers
      • 10,000 customers x $1 profit = $10,000
      • As a rule of thumb 15% of your revenue should go towards marketing ($10,000 x 15% = $1,500)
      • Seems like your are still ahead saving $300.
Seems like spending $1,200 to make $10,000 is worth it . It amazes me how SEO is a very analytical niche but some don't seem to pay attention to the numbers.

    EDIT: STAY AWAY

I wanted to cancel my contract but I can't because I apparently signed a 6 month contract. Good lesson for not reading the fine print I guess.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

I have first hand experience with Rank Pay. I'm about to unsubscribe, here's my story.

I was ranking ~#15-18 (Google 2nd page) for a phrase with an exact search volume of ~60K/month. They quoted something like $200 (may be less) to bring it to the top 3. This site was already making me multiples of that already (may be via other long tail kw - I wouldn't know) so to me it was one heck of a deal if they could give me #3 for just $200.

Unfortunately, I don't remember how many links I had before giving it to them. I presume it was less than 2K, may be even less than 1K. Within two months, my site has nearly 5K backlinks (based on YSE/SEOQuake); however no improvement in rankings. Yet they charge me like $80/month simply because they maintain that original ranking of mine. To me that sucks!

SO their breakdown must be something like $200 for #1-3, $150 for #4-8, $100 for #9-14, $80 for #15-18. I just made that up to give an example. I guess if I was ranked lower to start with, their fee structure would be different.

Now here's why I want to unsubscribe! I may give it one more month though.

They 'evaluate' your rankings on the 1st of the month and based on that they charge you. So if my site happened to be on the first page on April 1st I would pay them $120 or whatever regardless of its position from April 2nd through 31st. Suddenly around March 30th, I saw a increase of my rankings (may be up to #13 or 14) and then dropped back down to #18 or so after a few days. I think they did a burst of backlinks so that my site would climb up several places so that they could charge me some extra bucks. I didn't like that at all and that's why I'm thinking of unsubscribing.

I may give it another month and see, or I may unsubscribe next week. May be I should talk to someone there.

Do they spam as someone mentioned earlier - most likely YES since I got like 3K links from them within a short period. But then again, it could have been their own network, in which case it will not go down as spam I guess.

Two and a half months and they've not been able to do anything that I couldn't

Hope this helps someone make a decision.

Do you get any sort of reports or anything from them of the backlinks they create?

I would definitely be having a close look into them to make sure the backlinks and blog comments are legitimately written by hand and not spammed out by a software program..

Unless you don't mind loosing you credibility.

    Cheers,

After reading through this thread, it appears that a lot of people are missing the 6 month commitment requirement.

Even with a pay for performance SEO model, this really should be explicitly spelled out. Also, I can say this because this is exactly what we do for our performance based SEO company.
