Backlinks for expired domain?

Last year a friend of mine gave me a domain they no longer wanted, and hadn't done anything much with. Unfortunately I accidently let it expire, but it's available for registration again now. I know she had initially done some work on the site, is it possible to look up if there is existing backlinks to the domain, or any other useful factors? I'm trying to decide if it's worth repurchasing it again.

  • Don't pay a premium for it. Not worth it.
The backlinks probably have all died, along with
    any PR.

If you want the domain, buy it. Don't look for any
jumpstart from an expired domain that nobody did
    much with.

  • Hi Paul, thanks for the reply . It's available as a regular purchase, so I wouldn't pay any more than just buying any regular domain name. I am still interested in finding out if any backlinks exist though if there is a way.
  • If you want to check if the domain has backlinks, go to Yahoo! and type in site:http://www.domain.com

It could be worth getting. However, I don't think it's worth getting if it doesn't have a lot of backlinks and isn't indexed in the search engines.
