Hello Everyone,
I have a client and he has adsense on his site I cant show you the link to the site cause I only done 3 posts so far on this forum but the site is life in the philippines dot net now on my end here in the Philippines when I look at the site the adsense ads show ads related to the Philippines on his end when he looks at the site in the USA he only sees ads showing stuff about web hosting so he tells me. Is there a way to set adsense so that it will only show ads related to the Philippines and the niche he is in about living moving and vacationing in the philippines? Any suggestions are most appreciated thanks.

There is really not enough information on the site to allow Google to interpret the content and place targeted ads on the site.

It is my understanding that Google Adsense will display ads that are related to the geographic location of the reader, when available.

Google's blog, Inside Adsense, had a post on 'section targeting', that may help you with your goal of getting targeted adsense.

Here is the link to that blog post:

if i visit sites about cars, the google ads show about cars. when i vist sites about web hosting or vacations, the adsense ads display about web hosting or vacations. i think this is about the double dart cookie and the way ads are targetted. you can bypass this but i think its only at the end user / client end

You could turn interest based ads off. This may or may not work.
Google will override it sometimes, especially by country.

Google tries to put the best ads it thinks are geared for a visitor.

Section targeting is not a great idea. Google is smarter than that and
      will override that as well.

My advice to people is to let it ride. Over time, google will put better
ads. If they don't, improve the site. Make sure the title of the page
      is very good.

Emphasizing life in the Philippines may not be conducive to a visitor from
      the US.

After visiting the site, the content is thin. Like one page. You are also
keyword stuffing by bolding life in the Philippines multiple times.

I also got one ad for a flight to the Philippines. That makes me think
that with a ton of more content, your ads will get better.

But first turn off interest based ads and see what happens. Give it
      about 2 weeks. Patience.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I told my client that what some of you said since the site is new and not that much content on the site as of this time it will take google time to get more relevant ads on the site. I have 9 more articles that will be published over the next 9 weeks one per week all articles content is about different aspects of how to live and retire in the Philippines so I think as each of these articles publish google will better adjust the ads that will be showing on the site on the US side right?

Yes, they will likely get better over time. Paulgl is right - more relevant content + time = better targeted adsense ads.

In my opinion, Google sets the ads itself according to the target traffic coming to your blog or site whatever the case may be so you need not to worry about this.

Actually, Google ads are contextual so the ads displayed are targeted as best as possible for the the content of the page, not according to the traffic coming to the blog. That is why it is so important to keep a page content-focused. It makes it a lot easier for Google to determine what the page is about.

In tbird165's situation, each page on the site lifeinthephillipines(dot)net should focus on one particular aspect of life in the phillipines- such as a page on restaurants, another on real estate, another on banking, etc.

This will help in several areas of AdSense- better CTR, increased 'worth' to the bidding advertiser so the EPC will be higher, and Google can more easily read the content and place targeted ads.

Confusing the google-bot with diluted or mixed content on a page is one of the worst things an AdSense publisher can do.
