Duplicate content & Website ranking

Hi Everyone,

I'm creating a children's party site and am creating separate pages to target different (local) towns. All these towns are small thus the SEO competition is little or none.

I have little to write about on each page so was thinking of creating a template and then just changing the keywords accordingly.

What I am asking is will Google penalize me for too much duplicate content (coming form the same site)? Will all the pages get indexed ect?

I've tried it on a couple and they seem to not only get indexed but rank well.

Please advise but remember the competition is slim.

Many thanks,

Sam

I would try to keep each page as unique as possible because the duplicate content penalty is mostly directed at sites that have duplicate content on the same site more than from other sites so I would just keep it different on each page of your site

If the competition is pretty much non-existent then you MAY just may get away with it. However, like the post above says, its best to keep the content unique.

You might also be able to create 1 page for a group of locations that are in close proximity, this way you can mention several keywords in the page title, H1, H2s, and the content will be relevant too. It will save you time creating all those pages.

Cheers for the heads up guys, read a page page on the Google webmaster pages about duplicate content. To cut a long story short basically Google filters it out and only shows it once and can remove your entire site from the rankings.
