This may be a daft question, but...

When you want to get your profile links indexed, would putting the links to those profiles on one of your wordpress websites on a seperate server help?

For example, I put my profile links on my 'about' page on a seperate wordpress site and setup the WP plugins to get the pages indexed; once the 'about' page is indexed, Google is going to see those profile links aren't they?

I'm pretty certain there's more to it than seeing these links and indexing them but just wanted to clarify whether this is a method worth doing.

      the profile is, they have terrific mods, they clean house,
      google just doesn't care, etc., then what good are the
      profiles anyway?

      If I'm backlinking, I'll be darned if I start backlinking profile
      junk.

      My gosh people, what do you do with your valuable time

    Put the links on a page you don't care about (external site) that you don't own, then point a single high PR/authority link at the list of urls...
  • paulgl is right you could do more quality backlinking rather than wasting your time in one method.
  • As mentioned above, profile links are very low quality, but they do help.

    You should definitely be participating in the forums that the links are left on though, this is also how you get them indexed.

    If you only participate in a couple of busy threads that's fine, each time you make a post your profile nickname will appear next to it and usually link directly to your profile.

    This creates good, natural profile links. - Also, you don't need to use a signature link for this to work.

    If you are doing profile links, I recommend doing it this way. - You're already signed up to the forum, it doesn't take much extra time to make a post or two.

    Just don't spam because your posts (and possibly your account) will be removed.
