    • thank you for your reply I really appreciate it basically what i do is I get the keyword im looking for with like 2.4k searches a month or more. Then I use the the tools to get the page rank and back links I'm just struggling with making sure its a good keyword and that I will be more than likely to get to the first page of Google.

Hope this helped answer some of your questions you might have I'll be more than happy to answer anymore you guys have for me.

  • Don't make it harder than it is - step away from that description that you don't understand and look at some simple keyword research tutorials like

How To Do Keyword Research - The Beginners Guide to SEO

Not my site but it's a good overall explanation of keyword research.

I think people have trouble with keyword research because they expect to have a formula that provides "exact" results. Keywords are your best guess based on the information you find.

There is no one way to find the best keywords - you find a method that works for you and that you understand and that's good enough to get started. When a product tells you find keywords with XXX searches or XXX competing sites - consider those numbers a guideline rather than a strict requirement. Sometimes the ratios work even when the numbers aren't quite there.

  • ok now guys if im new to this is this the best thing to start with or do you guys know anything that is better for learning techniques for newbies. am I OK to continue with this or should i use something else first to learn?
  • Peter if you are building A100KB sites I suggest you follow Michaels keyword research procedure as outlined in the course.

His keyword research is a little different because of the type of keywords you are looking for and also because you are considering the CPC for each keyword. If you are having trouble with it then send Michael an email he is really good with customer service. You might also want to consider joining the Adsense 100k Blueprint forum as you will get a lot of help in there.

    • It's an excellent product. Avoid the temptation to quit and move to something new every time you run into a wall. You made a good choice. I agree that product has a unique approach to keywords - but if you gain a basic understand of keyword research and then go back and reread the instructions, it will make sense to you.

Don't let problems with keyword research stop you from proceeding - stick with it. You may have to muddle through at first - but it will begin to make sense as you do it.

  • thanks Sheryl can you provide link to the form ill join under your referral if they have one.
  • Peter, I'm learning right along with you. I struggled because I thought I had found a golden niche and when I learned how to do keyword research, I found out that my money maker got a whopping 36 searches per month. Sure, I could be #1 in Google, but no one would find me.

Then I got more frustrated because everythiing I have any sort of expertise in has a flooded market. I did a lot of digging and I think I've finally found something.

What are you using to do your research? I downloaded the trial of Market Samurai although I'm not convinced I'll buy it yet.
  • I have Market Samurai trial and keyword elite 2.0 I dont know if Elite is as good but I bought it before, so i might as well try it
  • You may also want to consider several years down the road. Those large keywords that everyone are so scared of, the ones that get the large traffic with the "big dogs" sitting at the top, they are not impossible to achieve, with some of the payouts being well worth the wait. So while you're working towards the long tail phrases for the short term profits, keep a constant trickle put towards those main keywords. One day, in a few years from now (which is much closer than you think), you may find yourself sitting on something very valuable. Or at least something powerful. Building authority, or at least an attempt, in at least one main niche, with the future in mind, couldn't possibly hurt a thing...

But I guess it's not like everyone is on a mad dash to hit all of those long tale terms, leaving many of the choice terms alone, for someone willing to work. So never mind, no one stands a chance...

You're young and intelligent, don't cut yourself short. And Don't throw your money away. "Watch" some of the leaders, closely, then do it better. It's not that they're smarter than you. Funny thing about the Internet, most everything is an illusion. You can be whomever or whatever you desire, if you desire.

    Good luck on that blueprint

    • Peter800...mikeroosa made some excellent points in his post above. Also, make sure you follow the blueprint and that you don't get sidetracked.

It's so easy to go after every shiny new wso and clickbank product.

Stick with the blueprint until you have a firm grasp of the principles they teach.

  • thanks guys!
  • At first, I didn't understand keyword research too! What I did was look at YouTube videos and some of the free ones really helped me out a lot.
  • I would suggest building a long term plan. Outsource your keyword research. Then build many sites every month, and expect great returns 1 to 2 years down the road. Until then, relax and continue to build.

  • Thanks all for the good advice, and kind words re: A100k.

Peter, if you're stuck on keyword research or any other area, you're welcome to PM me and we'll figure it out.

Unfortunately, there's going to be some time & effort involved if you want to succeed with this - or most any other - business plan. But what you'll get in return is a strong, sustainable business. Autoblogging does not have long-term viability, especially after the "Farmer" update.

    • Peter -

One thing to remember is you can do everything right - and still every niche will not hit it out of the park.

You can do all the research and build a site and in 3 months be ready to take the site down. Leave it up - add a bit to it on occasion - and that little site may surprise you with some good earnings 2 years down the road.

If you think you didn't hit the niche or keywords right out of the gate - just let that site sit and stew on google while you focus on other sites. Some of these little web properties will surprise you. Makes it fun

Also could I hire people to write the articles the way you say in the book after I get some income. If so how much would it cost per article? and how many words would you suggest?300? or 500 better?
  • thanks guys Michael I emailed you. another question if i start to get articles written for me which is better 300 or 500 words or 600? or a combination of all? also how much do people charge usually?
    • [1] reply
    • Hi Peter,

Received your email, thanks - will send you a reply shortly.

As for articles, with the "Farmer" update we suggest a minimum of 500 words for any articles, posts, or other content. The longer, the better.

You can find writers at every price point. To some extent, you get what you pay for, though there are resources for inexpensive content. Regardless of the source, it has become increasingly important to use quality, original content.
