Can I Just Backlink To Gain Great PR???

Im just wondering if I backlink a few hundred times if I could possibly gain a great SEO PR.

    I have used backlinks in the past and saw terrific results in terms of pagerank.
    When doing your backlinks, make sure they have a great title and description and are placed on sites that have a related area or niche.

    IE if you are backlinking a gardening site, be sure that the links are going on pages that have gardening information or links.

    You will be fine and see your pr rise.

    Building backlinks are great to increase PR but you must be very careful at how much backlinks you are generating at a time.

    Don't overdue it and be extra careful in building backlinks on major bookmarking sites (high PRs).
    Members there tend to flag links that are considered spam - almost instantly flagged.

    And remember PR of your site won't increase as soon as you put backlinks, probably around several months then you'll see the result.

    To know if your backlinks are grabbed by google you can use google alert and set it to your site's url.

      I wouldn't worry too much about PR. You do not need a good PR to rank well. Many PR 0 and PR1 sites outrank higher PR sites for competitive phrases.

      It's nice to have, (more of a trophy thing) but not essential in my opinion.

      Just gain quality, relevent backlinks and write good content, regularely.

      A few tests I have done clarify that it 'looks' as though you can achieve good rankings if the visitor stays on your site for a while.

      One of my sites is a tool, so visistors are tending to stay on for a while, not just a few minutes or so. For a new site with little 'accessible' content, it is starting to rank quite well.

      That's wrong. PR is updated all the time as Google finds new links to your site. The Google page rank tool bar only gets updated about every 3 - 4 months.

      Remember that building your links gradually but consistantly is the right way to go. You will do your site more harm by getting as many as you can in one go. You may be keen to do so, but a handful a day, from various sources is the ideal way.

    You will need more than a few hundred backlinks if you want a really good PR. Make sure you do not build the links too fast otherwise the search engines can penalise you. Keyword density and unique content will have a greater effect on your ranking than a high PR.

    I'm not saying put links on PR 0 sites are worthless since we never know when the PR will increase.

    I might said it wrong but when backlinks are picked up by google, it will do calculation, but some also say that backlinks are updated once every some time intervals.

    Don't know if the links above worth, but you're right the toolbar page rank doesn't mean a thing, what matters is google internal calculation.
