So my review blog has not been ranked in google for about a month now.

Best Bread Maker Reviews - Consumer Complaints and Feedback

i'm about to give up on this site, because I have 3 newer sites doing very well (2 of which i believe have already passed through the google dance) but this one seems like a complete dud. is there anything i can do to get google to send some pitty points it's way?

all it is doing for me now is taking up space on my hosting server.

EDIT: This site has been active since Jan. 3rd. It hasn't been ranked by google since mid-march

  • How much traffic are you seeing and where is it ranking for the targeted keywords?

    • well yesterday it recieved 2 unique visitors and it is ranked "N/A" for all of my keywords I am targeting.

when it did rank, about a month ago, it was page 1 for 6 of my keywords. it actually made me some money for the 4 days it was up.

again, i am about to give up on this site. it is basically useless to me at this point.

  • That has to be one of the funniest posts I've read recently - thanks!

As for the site, it looks like 15 pages are indexed; the content appears to be original. One month may seem like a long time, but in terms of ranking, it isn't. I don't know what you're doing in terms of keyword targeting and rank-building, but I see close to 100 backlinks.

If you're considering abandoning it solely because it hasn't achieved good rankings after just one month, I'd re-consider.

    • no no. i have been operating this monster since January. it has been a month since it was last ranked by google. i know way better than to expect rankings after a month. i just find it odd that this site has be unranked now for a month. after peaking at #4 for a few keywords a month ago.
  • Would you be willing to sell the site? I would be interested in buying if the price is right.

    • yea potentially. i have never sold a domain before. i just want this site to be ranked by google again and i know it should be. there is more original content on this site than most i have seen in this niche.
  • How many backlinks for that site?

    • There are a couple of things that stand out to me when I am looking at your site. You might be following the guidelines of a particular program which is telling you to them this way, I don't know but these things stand out to me.

Your home page is a list of bread machines which appears to be orgainzed in a way that I do not understand. It seems like all I can really do is click the rotator and watch bread machines go by or scan the page to see if the one I want is there.

I am thinking that for particular product models and numbers that if someone searches for those in Google, the clicks would go to the individual post, not your front page. Perhaps your front page could an overview of bread machines with the links in your sidebar.

Or with links to individual posts in context on your front page.

I have to admit I don't get the choices in buttons. I understand read review, but visit website? I am already on a website, why do I need to visit another one. One of the ideas I have heard about the internet is that the more specific a search query, teh closer the searcher is to making a purchase. Perhaps a buy now button would help.

I am also guessing that you have not much in the way of internal linking between posts. It is kind of hard to do the way you have the site set up because there is no information that I can see about anything other than bread machine reviews.

Perhaps if you could write some posts related to bread machines, or maybe some about bread machine recipes or your experiences with using bread machines and in those posts link to the posts about bread machine reviews.

That kind of internal linking is becoming more important. And would also help you get your link count up to the individual post pages.

You can probably also get some traffic by using feedburner and using a feedburner rdirect plugin.

It might also help to have a contact page and an affiliate income page.

With my own experience, I generally give myself a year to give a site some authority.

I hope this can help you out a bit. I always hate saying goodbye to a site.

  • If you made the site just because you wanted to make money, then you won't be motivated to work on it. I'm pretty sure you have no interest in best bread maker.
  • Money is just only part of SEO, I would suggest to love your work and have some more interest on the field.
  • Have you done a thorough analysis of backlinks of yours and your top competitors in Google, that is where you should concentrate really
  • Misery can be removed by putting a lot of quality Backlibks for this website.
Thats why you have to work on SEO to build Backlinks.
