What is the minimum exact monthly searches do you go for your main KW (URL/TitleH1) for a new site, please?

I am a little confused and would appreciate a straightforward amount/ rule of thumb, please!

Thanks a lot

I've gone as low as 25 exact clicks a day to my website as #1 and that isn't enough.

50+ a day should be good to start off, but if you can get a keyword that gets 20+ searches a day at #1 and you know you can get it, why not?

Start slow, then get higher.. after 50+ a day isn't enough go for 100+

    ---

All that being said, 100+ a day is worth while. That way your not jumping all over new projects and being stuck with 5 websites at pages 2-5 of google.

Start with a bigger project and work on it until your #1, than start fresh. build your way up.

If I'm checking for exact match keywords, I usually set the minimum limit to around 30-40 SEOT exact match

However if I can find a bunch of related keywords that all get exact matches of 10 or lower, but all combine to 80 or higher, to me that's just as good of a target as a single tough keyword with more exact matches

      Why is that Luke?

Is it because you would set up a site with a page for each keyword phrase?

      Thanks, Joe

pretty much, unless the phrases are so closely related that they can effectively be targeted on a single page

If that is an ultra targeted buyer keyword like, "product name review" or "product name bonuses" I would go even low as 20-25, if not I usually stick in the 50-100 range considering the competition.

          Thanks.

  • I try to aim for around 1,000 exact a month (that is to the actual site remember, not total searches), but this is just a general rule of thumb.

It really depends on what you are selling. Let's say you only get 100 hits a month, but your site converts at 10%. That would mean 10 sales a month. If you were earning $100 a sale, that would be a grand a month.

It's really just a general rule of thumb.
