My Page Rank is #7. Without building any backlinks at all

I work in oDesk as a link builder. Most recently I checked my Profile's Public URL and amazed by watching page rank of my profile!!! Its #7.....

I didnt optimized (no onpage optimization and also no offpage optimization) this page at all. And I cant do onpage optimization coz its an oDesk auto generated page.

So my question is how it is happening??? Isnt it proving that importance of a page is the main thing for getting higher Page Rank?? Then why we are building tons of backlinks everyday to funneling some page rank in our website rather then concentrating on ensuring page has good and important contents. I mean If we make our webpage important to all automatically it will be important to google.

  • It happens with sites with high PR. Many of their internal links also receive a high PR. The PR is not of your profile alone, it is that of the "profile" link of odesk. Have you ever checked facebook's homepage or profile PR? Every profile is PR 9.

      Not sure what you're looking at, but the page you have posted has no PR. It's not even indexed.

      well u want to say my profile is getting some link juice from the home page of odesk?? If it is then now I am thinking about another question... That is nowadays some experts say it is completely useless if I build backlink using a page with no pr or 0 pr which is a part of a site that has high pr. If I want to get some link juice then I should build backlinks on high pr PAGES. Not pages with 0 pr which is a part of high pr website.

      Is it true or I have to trust on Angela Paul ebook where they print that home page pr is important.

      well my google toolbar was showing PR7. But guys u are right. The page has 0 PR...

      Nah not at all. My intention was not to force u see my profile page. when I was checking my profile suddenly i saw my google toolbars page rank indicator is showing PR7. And then I went in google.com I saw its 10 PR. After it I came back and see my profile page has PR7.

      However now I checked it again. Its PR0..... :rolleyes:

    • There are no tricks. PR is based on links. Build some links to the page!
