I have a website for my local business which has been online for around a year but i have not really done any seo stuff for it as i have been busy developing the service i offer and actually building the website and videos on there. It is for personal training and I am looking to mainly target the keyword phrase "personal training manchester" as it gets the most searches per month compared to other keywords similar.

I am not great at SEO personally but my plan is to write a few articles per week and submit to ezine with one of the anchor text in the link as personal trainer manchester. Then put the other to personal training manchester.

From there I plan to re-write the articles manually and further submit to other article directories to keep them unique and making sense.

Also I would submit the site to a few social bookmark sites and do some do follow blog comments each week.

My question is would you say this method would be effective or what suggestions would you make to improve it? Also, do my articles have to include the phrase "personal trainer manchester" or does this not matter as long as the anchor text it correct?

My website is in my sig by the way in case anybody asks what the domain name is. Thanks in advance for any help...

If you want details about optimizing, there are many factors and I'll throw them by most valued top 10 ranking factors in order as of this writing:

**1) Keyword use in Document title
    2) Link Popularity of Website aka (backlinks)
    3) Link Text of Inbound Links aka Anchor text
**4) Keyword use in Body Text
    5) Age of Website (debateable)
**6) Keyword use in H1 Headline text
    7) Keyword use in Domain name
    8) Keyword use in Page URL
    9) Links from Social Networks

Your plan seems to be good. I would try to incorporate some Forum Profile links as well. And you can check out the Web 2.0 pyramid on my site, and use your article links as the first layer and build blog comment links onto your ezine articles for better SEO structure. Many of my customers use the Engage and Web 2.0 Pyramid packages for Local Business sites.
