hi

i have site which has over 4000 indexed urls on a .com, i now HAVE to transfer the whole business to .net, because i don't own the .com domain and my ex-partner would not give it to me, but all the codes are mine.

questions:

1. if i just switch off .com and turn.net on, would that be enough. i let google crawl the web and see for itself that the content has changed?

2. or do i ask google to remove all the urls from .com and submit a new sitemap on .net

yes, its the same content transferred across..

Please advise...

don't turn off .com and .net, you should create 301 redirect from the old domain to the new one. And wait some time when google will index your new website
