This one doesn't seem to work any more GoogleRankings.com - Check Google™ page ranking

Do you know of any other (free preferably) tools that provides a feature to check the current keyword position for a URL?

  • sescout.com

thats what I am using and its pretty cool.
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
  • Pagerank checker :Google SERPs checker: results many countries Google Pagerank SERPs index results web SEO tools

Very odd, terrible interface, but does actually work. Not heard of SEscout.com, must give it a look. I actually want to get some sort of rank tracker, that can track a bunch of keywords and a bunch of sites on a daily basis or whatever. I don't really fancy paying for that either, the pricing of these services seems to be aimed at heavyweight SEOers who can easily justify the asking price... A free solution would be nice

    • sescout looks nice, but they have been having big trouble by the looks of it over the last week or two - I wanted to test the free account, but they haven't refreshed Google results for days now, and are even offering refunds to paying customers...

  • A1 Keyword Research can position check multiple websites for multiple queries on multiple search engines. Should you need more search engine country variations, let me know
  • There are so many tools available in the web like seocentro, but we're manually checked:
  • you can try the free version of ranktracker by link-assistant. It works well and accurate.
  • You can try adding a "/ncr" extension after google.com or try scroogle scraper.
  • If your using wordpress I would recommend SEO Rank Reporter which is free
  • Hey check this one out, maybe it will help. http://www.googleposition.com/
  • I really like sescout and I have been using Scroogle as well. However, I notice the results from Scroogle are not the same as on sescout. Any ideas why? Not sure if the Scroogle results are USA only or not? The results from sescout can be set to USA, UK, etc, as a preference.

Alex, googleposition looks interesting. Does it have any limits on usage? I noticed it has some problem though - the first results I get is "http://www.googleposition.com/btnG" - what the heck is dat?
  • Rank Checker from SEObook.

    • I have not used any one of these but would definitely love to use them all.
  • You can use rank checker tool its a free from seobook. There are many more tools to check the ranking.
  • Check manually through Adwords Preview tool. It will give perfect results...
  • rank checker from seobook.com it is totally free where you can check google, yahoo and bing ranking but it used only for Mozilla browser
  • Rank checker is best one to check your ranking but according to me if you will check it manually then it would be fine
  • Yea I'm digging sescout - very impressive indeed. Thumbs up.
  • you can try seobook rank checker software, i think this is the best software for checking keyword ranking
  • I must say I much prefer sescout to seobook rank checker.
  • You can get all keywords on Semrush, for which site is shown in Google, but data is updated once a month. Veiw constant dynamics will not work.
  • SEM Rush only allows for a handful free searches per day... I find sescout has more value that way.

    • I think if you want to succeed, you'd better buy full version. You will earn more if you correctly use SEMRush services which are available only in full version.

    • I tried using seocentro for 2 of my sites.. It said they both had no ranking.. NOW I know this is not true.. So frankly I have no faith in it as a ranking checker tool
      The 2 sites are
      Sulfur Soap
      www.sulphursoap.net
      and
      Brown Contact Lenses
      www.browncontactlenses.net
Using a google.com/ncr search in a chrome incognito browser shows both these sites on the 2nd page of google..
      So confusing all this??
  • I use the SEO Book rank checker plug in to quickly batch through the rankings on google/bing/yahoo. The market samurai rank tracker is also pretty good.

Also, for sites that arent showing up in the SEO book rank checker, I use the first result for google search 'SERPS 1000" which is, as you may imagine, a serps check that goes 1000 results deep instead of 150 or 200. It is good for seeing where none primary domain pages are showing up.

    • lately, I've been finding its getting buggy
e.g.- when I try to sort results by clicking on column header, the results disappear and I have to run it again - not fun

      anyone else with that issue?

  • Going back to SEScout, it seems to be down, and has been for more than 24 hours now - seems like they are having big problems...

    • We haven't had any downtime for over a month. What site are you connecting to?

  • I have recently switched over to Rank Tracker, and it's very user friendly. There's quite a bit you can do for free, but to get some of the advanced features and reporting, it requires a modest investment (just over $100 a year, I think). Well worth the money in my opinion.
  • I've tried Rank Tracker by SEO Book and the Rank Tracker module that is available in Market Samurai. I haven't heard anyone mention Market Samurai in this thread, but know there are a lot of warriors out there who use this tool on a daily basis.

Does anybody have an opinion on this?
  • I recommend Rank Checker too. You can install it as an add-on if you're using Firefox. Non-intrusive/invasive and it's easy to use
  • I notice most of these Google position tools are usually aimed at Google US results, have to take that into consideration

    • Thanks for the info, all -- I've signed up for a free account at SEscout after reading about it here -- it's still gathering data as we speak.

Downside is that it allows me to check two URLs with 5 keywords each, no more. (Or 10 keywords for only 1 URL.) If you want more you've got to switch to a paid account.

As I've only recently begun with SEO, and don't have discretionary funds to spend on software yet, I'm probably staying with the free Rank Checker by Seobook, which doesn't seem to have restrictions on the number of URLs and sites you can check, and also allows me to export data to a .csv file.
