Okay...

So I have SEO VA working for me full time...

I want him to build backlinks to 10 sites for me.

Each site has 10 product pages (I need him to build links to each page)

That's 100 pages...

NOTE:
Several of these pages are on page 1 of google and once he gets them to within the top 3 positions...He no longer needs to maintain an aggressive link velocity with those pages.

Is this too many pages for 1 VA to handle??

    It depends on the VA...

Are you providing the blogs to comment on, directories to submit to, etc.? Do you have it all laid out in a spreadsheet for ease of use? Did you screencast and/or write a step-by-step explaining exactly what you want done?

Sorry I can't answer your question directly, but hopefully I can get you on the right track. A good rule of thumb would be to do a bunch yourself (2 hours or so) to determine about how long it takes you...and then apply those requirements to your VA, allowing for a little time to get up to speed.

As said above it very much depends on what you are laying out for your VA, Afterall he's suppose to be an "assistant" to you , not a fully time Link builder which is what i gathered he really is by your description.

It also depends on how much you are paying him as to whether its "too much" for him to handle, it could just be case of being paid too little for that quantity of work.

In which case it very much depends on your Link builders experience and whether he is more experienced than your self who is prepared to listen to his advice rather than wanting to pull the strings as such.

Or if you are guiding him as to what you want etc. It is perfectly fine work load for someone if they know what they are doing and are getting their Monitory worth for the work they are carrying out.

Is this his first week? If not, they should be submitting daily reports to you on exactly what they complete. If it seems like low volume, ask for more production.
