Adsense Placed Next to a Video

I was watching a video on YouTube where someone was advised by the Adsense team to put a block of Adsense ads next to a video. She said that it boost up her revenue. Has anyone else done this with much success?

On a site I'm working on I have a video on the sidebar. I did it so I can fill up the space. But if placing the video next to a block of ads significantly increases revenue, then I'll probably move it.

Can you post a link to the YT video?

    • I don't have access to YouTube right now. It's blocked. I'd have to do it from home, unless someone here knows which one I'm talking about and can post it for me.
  • I can't see how this would be a bad idea. Even a slip of a click may every now and then boost your revenue. But certainly it would make the ads more seen.

    • I would imagine it was a general statement about content and
ad placement. If your content is video, damn straight to put an
adsense block in full view of the video player. Just like putting
an adsense block smack dab in the middle of content, or side
      by side.

Of course this in conjunction with other ads at the top, side, or
      bottom.

There was an old time basballl player who was asked what is the
secret to his batting average. He said, "I hit 'em where they aint."

That is exactly the opposite of where you want ads. You want
      ads where your visitor is.
