Article Directory Question

I have a post on one of my blogs that's getting surprisingly decent results for me. I'd like to put a copy of it on EzineArticles.com but I've been told by someone that I trust that:

1) EZA may not accept the article if it's already on my site. I've never found this to be the case in my limited experience.

2) Google may view it as duplicate content and penalize my site. This goes against most of what I have read here.

3) Google will likely rank the EZA copy higher because my blog is new and I have no PR yet. Wouldn't the EZA copy also have little or no PR since there are no inbound links to the article?

I'm just confused on this subject as you can tell. What I'm looking for is a valid way to gain more exposure for this particular blog post/my blog

  • Don't worry about #1 or #2 - these almost never happen. #3 may be the case, because while the EZA article itself doesn't have PR, EZA's home page has high PR, which "drips down" to the article page, so it might get ranked higher than yours.

    • Obvious next question then is... would you do this with your own material or would you re-write it / submit something entirely different. Seems like a lot of work and kind of defeats the purpose if you can't try to get your best content distributed out there. My goal is to have others pick up my content from the directories such as EZA. My best traffic source for one of my blogs is from a random site that republished an article of mine, that must get a LOT of traffic.

  • Can anyone here pls send links to article submission sites?

  • That is simply not true.

Even though it is duplicate content, Google does not penalize for such duplicate content. You can get more information on the way Google views and treats => duplicate content

That is likely and is based on the fact that the home page of Ezinearticles has a high pr which can be passed down as link juice to the article you have on the ezinearticle site. Eventually however, if you begin to backlink to the article on your own site, you should have no problem overtaking that on Ezinearticles in the SERPs.
  • hey thanks guys for sharing the links, it's appreciated.
