How much would you pay for an expired PR4 domain?

I'm new to buying domains with PR, but I've done my homework and it's a legitimate PR4 domain with backlinks. The worth isn't in the website, only the PR, so I'd need to get some new content up on it. The domain name itself is generic, so I could do pretty much whatever I want with it.

Right now the bidding is at $135, and I'm debating on submitting a bid. Any advice from someone more experienced would be greatly appreciated! :-)

No, at that price it's not worth it. Unless its a good niche or keyword or you see potential in it as a business or for yourself.

Buying a domain for PR is risky, buying a dropped domain is even riskier. Lot of unscrupulous sellers at domain auction sites, ebay and forums. To easy to fake or redirect PR. No a dropped domain wouldn't be worth it IMO

          I agree entirely thecableguy,

I've seen people waste a lot of money on dropped domains.

If you're ever unsure, just go to whois.sc and check the details of the domain you're interested in.

$135 is overpriced for generic PR 4

I agree, they want way too much. I got burned once on a PR3 domain sale even after I thought I had carefully checked it.

It's not overpriced at all, but it depends on what you're going to do with it.

If it's just for homepage links or a blog network the prices I usually pay:

      PR1-2: <$20
      PR3: <$40
      PR4: <$120

PR5's and above are hard to give an accurate price range because there are way too many variables.

I got an offer to buy a 2 year old, unexpired, PR4 domain the other day. He wanted to sell it for $57. So, I agree with the others. Wait for a better deal.

If the name quality sucks, that's too much for a PR 4 compared to prices I see on forums. That said, I buy/sell purely on name quality and age and don't really care about backlinks and PR, so perhaps it may have a really solid backlink profile leading to the bids on it.
