I think I'm ok, but wanted to see what others have to say on this

I followed the instructions and videos on AMR and put out a very good, 1,200 word, well written, original article for a friend's site but he didn't want it spun. As per AMR, that's supposed to be fine. The spun articles didn't look right to him and I explained the purpose, but he still didn't want to.

700 articles were sent and in about 24 hours, the site's SERP for the keyword was off in the woods. The article shows over 850 search results as of today and the site is about 4-6 week old or so. I didn't think that several hundred links would be too much for it. It's been 3 days and I am not really worried and I'm still building links. He's getting nervous and now I am too, but just a bit. More from his pestering and checking his SERP every hour.

To top it off, we both missed that his anchor text was wrong and the keyword we did actually target went from 29th to 385th, and has improved 1 or two spots each day since. It was a long tail and the intended keyword has the same words so that was hit as well, falling over 10 pages.

I've read that the Google dance takes 3-5 days to settle and Warriors, I'm looking for some of your thoughts on this.

well seriously... Your buddy needs to take it easy on checking those positions. it's Probably only can change once a day. a lot of people don't realize that you could beat up at a high-ranking on other Google data centers that you are not connected with.

I'm not sure if you can still do it anymore but we used to have a frame set that would display about 20 Google data centers at a time. But if I gave you that it sounds like you guys would obsess over it even more.

Stressing out about it isn't going to get you guys anywhere... There's always the next article.

oh yeah and don't be counting on when Google is going to show for your round next... It could be a while it's not an exact timetable anymore

Sounds like you need to fire your buddy and find some better clients. If he were my buddy I'd give him a kick in his ass letting him know to keep his trap shut as I did my thing.

AMR works great. We use it with great results. Albeit we add our blog network of 2500 sites to the list as well. But the results you're looking for will come in the spam of weeks not hours.
