My girlfriend is freaking out that the ezene article she wrote is now on a bunch of other sites, some with the original back links and others with them removed, she is worried they are ruining her rankings and taking credit for her work what can I tell her to calm her down?

  • Did she post the same article on her site as well? You said she is worried about it diluting her rankings.

I know you said some people posted the article without the original links intact and that is wrong. But, you also said that some people posted her article with the links in the resource box intact which is exactly what is supposed to happen.

That's what the article directories are intended for. People are supposed to go to article directories to get content for their websites and in turn for providing this content the writers get backlinks. Making your articles available for people to post on their websites is part of the deal when you submit content to Ezine Articles. I certainly understand her being upset with the people that posted without the links because that is just ripping off her content but when you put articles on EZA you are putting them out there for others to use so she really shouldn't be upset about the people that left her links intact. In fact she should be very happy about it if she wants her site to rank in the search engines.

Ok, she put a article up on a PUBLIC site which has millions of viewers a day and is surprised the article is appearing on other sites?

If they're removed, you can contact the owner / host to file a complaint. If they keep the links, then they're following EZA's guidelines as far as I know. It's a good thing if they copy that.

      Say this to her:

"What are you worried about? You're having your 15 minutes of fame, people are putting backlinks from everywhere to your website, your page rank will rise, your alexa rank will rise, as your incomes too!"

Then give her a 5 seconds french kiss :p and say:

"By the way, you was the first one who wrote the article, so no one can be listed higher than you, once your article was posted before they could even think it would exists, be indexed, and then they could arrive it at Google and copy it. "
