YouTube SEO vs Google SEO

I know a good bit about Google SEO, getting ranked there. However, I am still unsure about YouTube. How is it different? Do backlinks help? How should I boost my ranking? Thanks for all the tips on YouTube SEO!

    Hey, well, You Tube SEO has alot of different factors besides backlinks. Yes, backlinking the video is a big part BUT so is your "on video" SEO... think of it like on page seo for your video.

    Here's a small list of what you tube finds important to rank IE. This is what you need to optimize your keyword (s) for:

    title
    tags
    description
    views
    likes
    favorites

    If you can match your title, tags, and description up, you are far ahead of 90% of other you tubers since they aren't IMers.

    This is the foundation to boosting your rankings. Leaving video responses, and getting your video embedded on other blogs will help a bunch also!

      The more likes, comments and other activity you get, YouTube will think its something and rank it, trying to excite their users.

      yup, the Internet is a crude and violent mob. I'm surprised this form is so civilized. Ironically when I paid this comment to this form in an earlier thread - I was attacked for saying it was good form LOL.

      Anyway, on YouTube and do a search on "Video shadow". the narration is horrible, the guy narrating hardly knows the product he's talking about. Maybe he got a friend to do it thinking that his friend was somewhat good at video narration. He could not be more wrong.

      However, the video tutorial on video shadow shows a number of things you can do to boost your video ranking in Google search results. People find your video from a Google search and then hopefully click through to your site as well.
