i am trying to wrap my brain about this concept.

whenever i submit a quality article to the top article directories i usually recieve around 3 to 10 requests "pingbacks" asking to publish my article on their website.

is this "article syndication"?

i always ensure the pingback request is legit and i normally accept to get a backlink

  • No. That is article re-publishing. They re-published your articles from the various article directories you syndicated them to.

    Article syndication is the submission of your articles to various article directories.

    I will not advise that you accept most trackbacks/pingbacks. Only accept those from fairly authoritative sites. You are creating a two-way link(reciprocal link) that way and it is no longer favored by Google.

    If you don't accept, and they still publish your articles on their sites, you have a one-way backlink which is most desirable. Most are unlikely to confirm that you accept their pingback or not and so it is better to thrash them and gain a one-way backlink.

    • You just sort of contradicted yourself. He is submitting articles to different directories and getting requests for his article to be published on different websites. This is what article syndication is and the goal of it.

      Accept the pingbacks when the site looks legit and not just autoblog, gambling, or porn.

  • I would suggest that if you have three unique content it must be submitted to three different article submission sites in order to gain quality backlinks.
