Hey guys, quick question. I browsed this forum one time and remember hearing that if you search or go on your site too much you will be ranked much higher than you should be on YOUR google, so how do you correct this. When I search for my keyword I want a true indication of where I belong.

Thanks

The only thing that skews googles search results is being logged into a google account while you are searching.
You can't boost your rank by going to your site more often. The only thing you'll change is your alexa rank which means nothing.

That's not my experience. When I log out of my Google account, I still see geo-targeted ads. When I have proxy enabled, I see different ads and different ranking results. It makes me think Google is using geo-targeting whether you're logged in or not.

Well yeah, for local results. As for ads, definitely does that as well. The reason is people specify the region they want to target. If your IP isn't near their area, you don't see the ads, regardless if you are logged in or not.

    Log out of Google.

Try search in Google Chrome in Incognito mode.

You can also look up browsing with proxies too.

You can also google Scroogle but this one varies.

Hi, I think what you're asking is that you see your site ranking too high and wonder if that's where everyone else see's it, am I right in understanding what you're asking?

If so, clear your cache and cookies.

You should now see your sites real ranking.

Like someone else said, Google Chrome's Incognito Mode takes care of this problem for viewing your rankings.

Well the same query I had a few weeks ago. Then I tried searching in the Google chrome and the problem was solved.
