SEO - Vacation - What do you do?

I'm getting married in a week and taking a 2 week honeymoon after that.

I'm trying to build links even in the time going up to the wedding though it's been kind of choppy. And I'm not going to work on it at all during the honeymoon.

Soo I was wondering what other warriors do when they take a vacation and don't want to take their SEO work with them. Do you outsource more during that time? Not worry about it until you get back? Give a bigger push leading up to the vacation?

The smart person who does any "SEO," knows they can take
2 weeks off without any problem.

But there are internet connections all over the place now.
No reason to not get up early and spend 1-2 hours.

Exactly what I was thinking. Don't sweat it. 2 weeks off shouldn't do you any harm at all. Enjoy the break.

Call me paranoid, but there's no way I'd do this. If I've spent tons of time manually building links, the last thing I'd want to do is hire someone and have them screw everything up.

My advice? Enjoy your honeymoon and don't worry about it! The internet will still be here when you get back.

If you are running a blog and content is updated on regular interval then hire a content writer during your vacations because Google loves fresh content. If you are building links since long time then give rest to your website and enjoy your honeymoon only and then come back with fresh mind

Take your honeymoon and enjoy your life. Dont take laptop and dont work, enjoy your wife and being with the person you think is the best in the world. After you come back your head will be free of stuff that you left behind and you will get more benefit later. You will do more after this break, trust me.

I agree. Sometimes you've just got to let go and take a break.

If you don't have the cash to outsource then there's not much you
can do so just chill out and have a good time.

And I expect your wife will get pretty pissed at you if she sees you
fiddling about on your laptop on your honeymoon lol.

Google will still be here for you to dominate when you get back.

      Will

I think you can still do SEO work even if you are in a honeymoon. Spending at least 1 to 2 hours is not a tough task.

Have you ever learned about your body, mind and energy control. It is not efficient. If you take a rest do it, if you want to work do it, but never both. It is like go with friends to drink some beer and take laptop so that you can check email in toilet

I realize there are internet connections "everywhere" though that actually isn't true of everywhere we will be and wasn't even true of where we will be living afterward for anything other than dial-up up until less than a month ago(literally could not get cable, dsl, satellite, internet, etc).

And I also realize that I technically could get up early and do some work. But that isn't my priority.

I figured someone would point that out, and that is why I clearly stated in the original post that I am NOT going to take work with me on the honeymoon. Nothing about doing that would make sense to me to be honest.

As backlinksvideo said, I want this time to be a time where I can escape the stresses of day to day life and just spend a couple weeks with my new wife - no cell phones, no laptops(except maybe to find fun things to do nearby), etc.

As for taking 2 weeks off with no problem, yeah, I realize that too. But again that doesn't answer my question. I was wondering if anyone here had any tips for keeping the forward momentum going while I am gone. I realize I could come back and be about where I am now, but it would be even nicer to come back and be better off than when I left.

You could use a scheduled or drip feed service. Build My Rank for example allows you to drip feed your posts, so you can write 14 and have them post one per day. ArticleRanks will also automatically drip feed your article.

Go on a backlinking RAMPAGE for a week! Then don't do sh*t for a month and see what happens...

This gives your site time to dance and settle... SOOOOO when you come back to see where it sits you know what you have to do... Something or nothing!! :p

EVERYONE who does Off-site SEO (backlink building) knows that you have to have "down time" or you'll never know where you truly rank. If my site hits one then I stop building links. If it moves out of one then I'll rebuild some links. Some times I won't rebuild any links and it magically goes back to #1.

A site has to sit to settle... Let the SE's do the rest, then do work if you need to... Later.

CHEERS & CONGRATS FOR MARRYING ONE P**SY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!

      LMAO!!! That was uncalled for!

I wouldn't even worry about it.

If your site/page can't hold it's own in the SERPs for 2 weeks, the site has bigger issues that should be dealt with.

I would however schedule blog post in a random order over that 2 week period, even 1 new scheduled post every 3-4 days would be more than enough.

Depends on the link building you have done, if you stop it COULD hurt, but it really depends on the situation of the site. You should give us more details. It is very possible that you could be okay, and not have to worry about it when you get back, but if you're needing a high position and you need to constantly work on it, I'd recommend hiring out for it.

As for my vacations... I don't really get any lol... I have people that would be able to hold things together though if I were to take one.

Some of us have sites that we have not touched in months, if
not years. Yes, we go in panic mode. I myself went camping for
3 days. No internet, no smartphone, email, etc. Sure I'm thinking,
what if. Soon as we made it down the mountain, got a connection,
I checked and noticed I made more money in those 3 days then the
      3 days prior.

Yes, there are some niches that you have to keep fresh. But we
all should have a few static sites in the mix that make money.
And don't need to be touched. If I did as much SEO as some
people preach on an ongoing basis, I'd go nuts.

It really boils down to linkbait, targeting the right audience,
giving good info, getting a few high PR links.

If you are not putting at least some, if not most, of your sites on
auto-pilot, man I feel for you. And I don't mean autoblogging.

Case in point. One site I have not updated in eons made me
      the most money yesterday.

    Hello:

Yeah... just forget about it! The work you have done will be working for you while you are on vacation. Links have to go through a natural aging process before Google will recognize them. Relax!

You can't do honeymoon all of your life. So my advice is forget everything related to your work which sometimes causes you to become stressful. Enjoy your honeymoon with the one that you love the most. It might affect your work, but there is no sweetest thing than to be with your love...So forget first your work and enjoy!

I schedule all my tasks for example you can add the time when WP post is posted and when backlinks are created for example with senuke x. Automation is everything. Aweber can also be automated.

    first of all congratulations!

and id say just take that time off! 2 weeks off from SEO wont make a huge difference, you can make a really good push before you go, and another great push when you come back. and if youre really concerend just outsource a few jobs to be done while you are away so you can enjoy your honeymoon!
