Oh, is there an alternative to using a plugin? I'm new internet marketing an unfamiliar with all the ins and outs. I'm thinking it has to do with coding that I'm not proficient with but if there is some easy "plug ad here" tutorial you can give that would be great!

Anyone who makes a Wordpress plugin can do all sorts of things to your content. Stick with reputable plugins (of all types) and they can be a real time saver.

Your only saying that because your selling an Adsense plugin, that makes your comment 100% bias.

If people are naive enough to think that people won't try & rip them off on the internet, well, good luck with that.

Just copy & paste the Adsense code in the same place as you would have to paste the plugin WP-shortcode.

Adsense plugins are asking for trouble!

Every point I made is still 100% valid. You don't need to pay for one. There are a lot of quality plugins that people are posting in this thread.

Any Wordpress plugin can be used to rip you off.

Just saying, I would learn basic html code, before I would use a plugin for Adsense.

Anyone that knows html/php could easily write a Wordpress plugin to skim your Adsense earnings, by rotating their Adsense Ads with yours (on your site).

Zero risk, If you paste the Adsense code into your sites Theme.

Personally, I never use plugins for my adsense.

I recommend you place it all on your own.

I sell a plugin so can't say. All I know is that people find them very handy to have as it saves them a lot of time.

There are a lot of basic ones available for free and any of those would do the job for most.

I have created my own Adsense optimization plugin which I give away for free to my members, details are on the page my signature leads to.

It is also available to anyone else who wants it. The only difference is that members get a licensed version which removes a link to my site. Drop me a PM if you would like it..

I prefer to ad code manually however Stephens Plug-in as mentioned above works like a gem.

I use "Quick Adsense". You can design the ads from the settings and choose how many and where to place in your posts.

I manually insert adsense code into text widgets and use the quick adsense plugin for posts (especially autoblogs).

Another benefit by using this plugin, is if you change the Adsense acct. # in the settings, it will change all the adsense code in the posts to reflect the new Adsense acct #. Handy if you are going to sell the website or if you don't want to go through every single post you've made to change the hard coded adsense code.

Mostly free plugins are not reliable and work more for the programmer who created it. So we should be very careful while using such plugins. I personally don't like to use them and prefer to work manually for the security purposes.

Fully agree. Learning to actually insert AdSense code in your html takes all of 10 minutes. For anyone who's ever pasted any kind of code into any html, it takes all of 10 seconds. The referenced article was a big roar a couple years ago and it's another reason I would never ever ever use an AdSense plugin.

One bad plugin means they are all bad?

A simple check of the source code or even a search to see people's past experience will tell you whether a plugin can be trusted or not.

I just can't get over the fact you find it strange someone would use a plugin to manage their adsense (which do more than just insert the code inside the html) but happily use and promote other plugins that can be just as malicious.

Any plugin can get access to the content of the WordPress blog. The plugin author can do anything from insert hidden backlinks, redirect, replace affiliate links, play havoc on the database, plant malware, embed frames, cloak these changes...destroy all of your blog.

I agree that people should be careful in using any plugin but implying because AdSense is involved then they are higher risk is a bit rough.

I don't use any plugins either, and I'm seeing golden results. I'm generating lots of traffic though.. My click rate is at 10-11%. I think ad placement really matters when it comes to monetizing off adsense.

one advantage to the plugins is making one change and having it take effect on all your pages. a few have said they edit it in the page or post file, can someone show me where would you put your adsense code in there? and is there a way to be able to insert it in the middle of the content?

If you want to get the ad unit display within the content without using a plugin then you can place the unit inside a div and with some css (using the postition property ) you can shift down to sit inside the content. Make sure the <div> the ad unit <div> is sitting in is set to position:relative, and the ad unit <div> is set to position:absolute;.

Not all creators of plugins rip you off, the creator of the plugin says this: PS: if you like the plugin, I’d appreciate a link back and maybe telling your readers about it, if you think they might be interested.

I'm nobody's shill, but I can vouch for Fraggler's plugin. It will serve up whatever ad code you stick in there, not just Adsense, but CPA ads if that's your thing. You don't have to supply your Adsense account id other than embedded in your ad code.

I'm actually more than capable of coding my own solution, and actually use OpenX now, but before I graduated to a dedicated ad server I used Fraggler's plugin.

BTW you could equally easily use the OpenX ad codes with that plugin too.
