Found a keyword which is the name of a casino. Getting 6600 exacts a month and not much competition. Reckon I can easily rank number 2 behind the casino itself.

Can the casino stop me from doing this?

Will they pay out if I market their casino?

Yes they can stop you - especially if the name is trademarked.

      Are you sure about that?

If you use a trademark domain or something then sure but I don't see how they could stop 'casinoreviews.com/casinoname' for example.

But surely they are not going to allow me to 'steal' traffic they already have and then pay me for it?

If there's something they can do about it then no, they wouldn't. If you use a trademarked domain or something they'll have it from you the moment it ranks.

From what I understand though if your website is ranking without breaking any laws then all they can do to prevent you is buy you out or beat your SEO themselves.

Say the casino is called ABC. I presume ABC is trademarked but would ABC Casino be trademarked? How can I find out? There is no mention of ABC casino being trademarked in their T&C's.

    Do this, hxxp://www.related-keyword.com/casino-name-here/

Build most of your backlinks to the internal page (casino-name-here), rank the internal page.

That way the casino or anyone else can't do a thing about it.

What if the domain name I wanted was hxxp://www.abccasinosite.com. Can I still get away with it as there domain name is hxxp://www.abc.com

If the competition really is that low you don't need to put their trademark in the domain at all.

    Yukon is right.

If you're not using their name in your domain I don't see the problem. What's to stop you from writing a review or overview of their casino? Wouldn't worry too much about it.

Competition is low but to rank number 2 with minimal backlinks, SEO etc I would like to put the casino name in my domain name.

If ABC casino is not trademarked then can they do anything about it?

At a bear minimum, they can lawyer you to death. Do you have the money to defend yourself against a large onslaught of lawyers?

Where is the money in this? I don't see a long and costly legal fight over this domain, verses the potential revenue you can generate from this web site is a potential winning scenario. Maybe I am missing something, but unless you can see pots of gold with this web site, you are going to lose out, even if you win the domain battle.

If you're determined to put the casino name in your domain then you are just asking for trouble.

Unless you can do it without, my advice is don't do it at all.

I agree. I don't think this keyword is worth the hassle. Not to mention that stealing customers from the casino and then asking them to pay for them is morally wrong and something I am not comfortable with.

As much as it hurts to walk away from this opportunity I know its the right thing to do. Thanks for all your advice guys. I will continue searching for keywords but i'm gonna leave brand names well alone from now on.
