Why isn't AdWords running my ads?

So I have a $75 AdWords credit, like everyone else on the planet.

I'm way too small to really run a proper AdWords campaign but I thought well, I should at least burn up the credit. So I setup a campaign with very targeted words (my city + niche), at $5 a day, to run until the $75 is done.

48 hours later, AdWords still hasn't used a penny of my credit.

So does that mean that no one has clicked on the ad?

My max CPC is $0.98 (the "default big"). As I recall, the analysis was that each click was about $0.98 so I didn't expect to get much. I was expecting they'd use up the $5 each day and then the campaign would stop until the next day, etc.

There's a number of different reasons this could be happening...

First, are your ads approved? It will say pending approval or approved. Your ads won't be visible by anyone until they are approved.

If they are approved, are you getting impressions (number of times you ad is seen)?

If your ads are approved and you're not getting impressions then either your bid is too low or no one is searching for your keywords.
