Variance of Adsense Earnings?

One thing that annoys me! My earnings always stick very close to the average eCPM.

For example, if I have had a very good morning, where the eCPM is much over the average, it's almost certain I will have a poor rest of the day where the eCPM goes back towards the average. The converse is also true.

Anyone else have this?

  • This is more and more likely to happen as your daily traffic total gets higher and higher. It's the law of averages in effect. I do find that some days of the week (i.e. Friday/Saturday) may have higher average eCPMs or CTRs than others, though the traffic on these days is typically lower.

    Consider this a good thing, stability of some sort
  • Same thing here, and most of the times my ads are doing better with less traffic.
  • It's possible that its due to pulling of ads (and bids) from rotation once an advertiser's daily budget is reached.
  • What about your RPM I think thats really make the work easy now.
  • Yea, generally I had experienced higher CPC during Thursday and Friday evening compared to other days/times.
